Before she could turn, a warm, firm hand settled on her waist, pulling her back against a solid, familiar chest.

Isabelle tilted her head up at the man now beside her, a smile instantly touching her lips.

“Mhm, I’m here.” He smirked and gave the tip of her nose a playful tap.

Kayden’s grip tightened on his wineglass, his knuckles turning white.

His research had indicated Isabelle wasn’t seeing anyone. He never imagined she was actually married.

He looked at the tall, imposing man before him. He wasn’t wearing a jacket, just a waistcoat over his shirt, with one hand possessively on the woman’s waist and the other in his trouser pocket.

Damian let his gaze drift casually over the other man before finally looking down at Isabelle.

“Sweetheart…” He lowered his head, his voice a soft murmur near her ear. “Time to go home.”

“Mr. Jarvis, if you’ll excuse us.” Without waiting for a reply, Damian turned, his arm firmly around Isabelle, and guided her away.

Isabelle nodded, wondering if Maddox had indeed escorted Diana away, or if she had gone straight to Brian’s apartment.

“Who was that man earlier?” Damian’s brow furrowed slightly.

“Elva Jarvis‘ son. He was apparently ‘shopping‘ tonight, but got more than he bargained for.” Isabelle leaned her head against his

shoulder.

Damian’s arm wrapped securely around her waist.

He wasn’t worried. He knew this woman had no interest in softer, gentler types–she was drawn to a more dominant presence, like
