Fated Marriage Spoiled by My Ice Billionaire novel Chapter 98

Isabelle finished the glass of water on the table and reluctantly agreed.

Once in Collin's car, she fell asleep almost instantly.

Collin glanced at her occasionally, a faint smile on his lips.

Her face was flushed, and her breathing was a little rapid from discomfort, almost like she was...

He tightened his grip on the steering wheel, the veins on the back of his hands becoming more pronounced.

She got out of the car, but only took a couple of steps before huffing and puffing—sweat was already popping out on her forehead.

Could've been last night's rough sex, or maybe the sickness; either way, her legs were shaking too much to hold her up.

Seeing this, Collin scooped her up in his arms.

Isabelle said weakly, "Put me down..."

Collin said firmly, "Don't be stubborn, not in this state."

Isabelle still refused. "You could have just gotten a wheelchair."

Terrified of being seen by Damian's aunt, Lillian, Isabelle struggled as hard as she could. But sick as she was, she had barely any strength—and it didn't make a real impact.

Collin, who worked out regularly and was solidly built, paid her efforts no mind.

Isabelle gave up. Struggling more in public would only draw a bigger crowd. She quickly sent a message to Diana.

Diana was with Brian, arranging furniture for her new penthouse, when she saw the message.

Diana said, "Isabelle is sick at the hospital, and the guy who's had a crush on her for years is the one who took her there."

Brian sneered. "Better leave this to Mr. Cross. Good for him to learn a lesson, save him from texting me in the middle of the night asking what to do."

"You're right." Diana immediately called Damian.

"Where are you?" Diana asked.

"Ms. Williams, do you need something?" Damian replied.

"I'm asking what you're doing."

"Looking at an apartment."

"Looking at an apartment?" Diana was shocked. Since when did a top CEO need to look at apartments himself?

Before she could ask more, Aurora's syrupy sweet voice came through the phone. "Dami, let's take this one."

Diana put the call on speaker and pulled Brian over to listen.

"Mr. Cross, in a hurry? Looking at this apartment lying down or standing up?" Diana said with a light laugh.

On the other end, Damian frowned, glancing at the caller ID. "What's this about?"

"Nothing with me. Something with your wife. So you're looking at apartments with another girl?" Diana's tone was dripping with sarcasm.

"Buying an apartment for another woman. Does she know?" Diana said, looking at the woman in front of her with utter disdain.

"I haven't had a chance to tell her yet. Where is she? What happened?" Damian walked toward them.

"Just like you. While you're busy taking care of one woman, another man is taking care of her." Diana spared him no courtesy.

Damian's brow furrowed deeply.

Aurora hastily stepped forward to explain, "Your words are so harsh. I've known Dami for so many years—it's only natural he looks out for me. That woman hasn't been married to Dami for long, and she's already being taken care of by another man. Doesn't that—"

"Aurora!" Damian's sharp reprimand cut her off. "Where is she?" he demanded again.

"Aldoria Hospital," Diana replied.

Damian looked at Brian, who gave a confirming nod. Without another word, Damian strode out of the apartment.

"Dami!" Aurora moved to stop him, but Diana stepped forward, blocking her path.

Diana had seen this act too many times; not a single impure thought could escape her notice. Either Damian was truly naive, or this thick, syrupy act had completely blinded him.

"How funny. Looks like we'll be neighbors, upstairs and down," Diana said with a snort, walking further into the apartment to check out the layout.

A small unit, one elevator for two apartments, maybe 1,600 square feet at most.

"Oh? You live here too?" Aurora said, dripping with false sweetness.
