Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All novel Chapter 106

Chapter 106: 106-I Can Play Better Games

Verity:

"What did you say?" I asked him in confusion.

"I said, do you not have anything to say in your defense?" he asked, making me narrow my eyes at him before glancing around in confusion, trying to confirm if he was really talking to me this way.

I could tell from the way he was looking at me that the fact I was not immediately explaining myself was humiliating to him.

He already knew I had found out.

Yes, he wasn’t wrong. I had figured it out when he started to act differently.

"No, I don’t. I’m not sure what you’re talking about." I continued to act innocent, mainly because I wanted to give him the impression that I wasn’t even thinking that far into it.

"Your phone was—I found your phone in Ragnar’s pants pockets."

The fact that Jaguar took all the blame on himself really disappointed me.

It gave me the impression that I still wasn’t doing very well.

If he wasn’t even going to scream Gigi’s name out loud and kept shielding her behind his broad back, then this wasn’t going to work.

I turned to him and frowned in confusion, making it clear that I was genuinely appalled by his actions and the games he was trying to play with me.

"We need to have a talk." He then pointed toward the empty street.

I stared at his hand and then at the empty street.

At this point, I had to talk to him because his anger seemed to come from something much deeper.

If I let things go any longer, he was going to get the wrong idea about me, and I couldn’t afford that.

Every time I took a few steps forward, I was pushed back by Gigi.

This time, I wasn’t going to let that happen.

So, after giving him an explosive look, I walked past him and headed toward the street without saying another word.

The moment we reached the street, I leaned back against the wall while he stood against the wall opposite me.

It was a narrow passage, not even a street, but a very tight alleyway.

"What do you want me to explain?" I asked, folding my arms across my chest.

"You left—" He paused and took a deep breath, as though it was difficult for him to say the words.

"Hold up," I cut in before he could say any more nonsense.

"I left what?" I asked, watching him go through a plethora of emotions.

Something was definitely stirring inside him.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t be this bothered.

Or was he bothered because of Gigi? Because he thought she would ultimately end up heartbroken?

"The other night, when you brought Oliver in, you and Ragnar were in the backyard. Then the two of you suddenly left. Later, he came home late that night, all hard and desperate, and slept with Gigi as if his body was on fire. Then your phone was found in his pocket."

He started explaining everything, thankfully giving me the information I had hoped for.

It confirmed what had happened on the other side of the mansion, at the back, where I had been completely unaware of what was going on.
