Jaguar:
Whatever Oliver told us left a huge impact on all of us.
We were already worried about Gigi’s safety because if this person was attacking so many people close to her, it was almost like he was sending a message that anyone could be next.
It could even be Gigi. Maybe he was trying to create the impression that he was always close to her, yet we still couldn’t get to him.
Those thoughts weighed on our minds as we helped Oliver lie back down and rest.
"He has magical powers. He’s a magical creature. That means he’s a monster," Theodore said immediately.
Ragnar stood with his hands in his pants pockets for the first time.
He never really put his hands in his pockets, so whenever he did, you could be sure he was deep in thought.
"I don’t know why this is happening," Gigi uttered, looking confused and lost.
She had lost all the color in her face. She looked so pale.
"Don’t worry. Monster or not, we’ll deal with him," I assured her, reminding her that only a few days earlier, I had encountered a monster in the woods and fought it.
In simple words, she looked like she could pass out at any moment.
"I have to go as well now," she uttered very softly.
"Go where?" Ragnar finally snapped out of his thoughts, sitting on a separate couch while Theodore and I remained on the same couch with Gigi, sandwiching her between us to remind her how protective we were of her.
"Remember, Verity’s phone was left in your pocket. I have to drop it off too," she replied just as softly.
"Oh, about that—" I immediately spoke up when I noticed she mentioned it.
However, my eyes shifted to Ragnar, and I decided to stay silent for now.
"You don’t have to go anywhere right now," Ragnar snapped. "Hand me the phone. I’ll drop it off to her."
I noticed Gigi hesitate before responding.
She was usually in a hurry with everything, but that hesitation reminded me that the way she had been acting as though she didn’t care at all was a lie.
Of course, she was a woman in love too.
Despite all this tension, she hadn’t asked about my brother even once.
That alone proved how special Gigi was.
She handed the phone to Ragnar and sat back down.
"There’s a piece of paper with the address written on it," Gigi replied, her voice duller than before.
Ragnar got up and walked away to collect his clothes and other belongings from her room.
He never really stayed at her house for more than a night.
Usually, Gigi would come and stay at our place instead.
He would spend one night at her house, but after they spent the night together, he usually moved to the guest room.
When he walked away, I turned to Gigi.
"I did some research," I told her, watching her eyes widen.
"Nothing happened between Ragnar, and Verity."
