Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All novel Chapter 168

Chapter 168: 168-Tricking The Innocent

Gigi:

If I could, I would have insisted that Ragnar take me with him.

But I knew there were a few boundaries I did not need to cross.

Specifically, mixing Ragnar’s work with his personal life.

I knew the reason he loved me so much was because I didn’t put stress on him.

I didn’t ask for things I knew would upset him.

Women usually made those mistakes.

They questioned their lovers so much, suspected they were cheating on them, constantly argued with them, checked their phones, and everything like crazy.

To the point that they drove them away.

But I wasn’t an idiot.

I knew how to handle every issue with care, confidence, and calmness.

Which was why I was standing here, waving goodbye to Ragnar as his car drove away.

The driver was going to tell me everything anyway.

He was my man.

I had given him enough money to spy on Ragnar, to always tell me where he was going and what he was doing.

There were moments when Ragnar wouldn’t take this driver, and I didn’t question it or become suspicious.

That was what Ragnar did.

He would sometimes completely drop his old bodyguards and hire new ones for a few days, or mix their shifts together.

Besides, I had pretty important things to do at home.

I was afraid time was slipping through my fingers.

And Ragnar being away was actually good for me because he usually tried to keep an eye on what was happening in the mansion.

I had to prevent that.

I had to prevent him from finding out.

So I was doing my best to fix all my problems before he returned.

I went straight back inside and peeked into the guest wing.

It seemed like Jenna was with Lady Lucille.

I tiptoed inside without getting noticed and stood outside the door.

"Jenna, you’re not supposed to trust this woman," Lady Lucille’s voice came from inside, and my fists clenched.

"I don’t trust anyone. It’s not like I have something— I have something that needs securing," I heard Jenna laugh uncomfortably.

This was the main reason Lady Lucille was so hell-bent on not letting her stay with me.

Jenna was an idiot.

I began to wonder if she really was that naive.

I mean, she was just like Verity from the past.

Look how easy it had been for me to toss her around back when I was dating her scumbag of a brother.

"You have your body, your existence, your peace of mind. Don’t disregard these things. You need to secure them," Lady Lucille commented, making me bite the inside of my cheek.

I touched my chin, thinking briefly about what to do.

With Lady Lucille always on Jenna’s back, I wouldn’t be able to do anything.

Then it hit me.
