Verity:
I didn’t even know whether they had spoken to Ragnar or not.
They simply told me that I had to go pack my things immediately and move into the mansion.
To be fair, it made sense.
Roman had been messaging me since that morning, saying he wanted to spend the weekend with me.
In fact, he wanted to take a week’s leave so he could stay with me day and night.
I was really worried because I had started suspecting what he was actually coming for.
My virginity.
I still hadn’t been physical with him, and now it felt like he was running out of patience.
Which was terrifying because if he blackmailed me, I would have no choice but to give in.
Anyway, when I walked out of the guest room, I immediately noticed the way Jenna was looking at me.
The last time, she had been very sweet to me.
Today, something felt different.
She didn’t have the same welcoming expression she had before.
Instead, she looked upset with me, as though I had personally done something to hurt her.
Well, that was something for me to think about later.
I immediately started packing my things.
I didn’t have that much stuff here, anyway.
All my clothes and everything else were packed in no time.
Just as Gigi had said, her warriors packed everything up and loaded it into two cars.
"So, this is your home?"
My body immediately tensed, and I turned around to see Theodore.
I had no idea the brothers were coming.
Jaguar wasn’t around, probably because Gigi had asked him to stay with her, and he had.
"Yeah. My safe place," I murmured, looking around as I hugged myself.
"Well, it’s a shame I was never invited. Not even for a coffee," he remarked, his hands tucked into his jeans pockets.
"I just want to know something, Theodore," I said, stepping aside as a warrior carried one of the boxes past me.
"What is it?" he asked.
I slowly ran my finger along the console table, keeping my eyes lowered instead of looking directly at him.
"What did Jaguar tell you about my personal life?"
As I asked the question, I raised an eyebrow and looked at him from the corner of my eye.
I watched Theodore stare at me in shock, as though he was trying to decide whether he should tell me the truth or lie.
"Why don’t you ask him?"
That was all Theodore said.
Then I realised disappointment was all I was going to get.
I didn’t want that.
I wanted them wrapped around my fingers.
When I asked them questions, I wanted them to answer me without thinking about anyone else.
"Okay," I replied.
"So, you’re going to stay at our place? That means we’ll be seeing each other a lot." Theodore attempted to joke.
But I didn’t give him another second of my attention.
I walked over, picked up my bag and purse, and slung the strap over my shoulder.
