Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All novel Chapter 324

Chapter 324: 324-The Stay That Didn’t Last.

Verity:

He stood in front of me as if he hadn’t done anything wrong.

"That’s not true, Verity. If Gigi is important to me, then you’re even more important."

The way he said those words would have made anyone else in my place happy immediately.

But I knew the truth.

He could say whatever he wanted, but the fact remained that he had checked on Gigi first.

Only afterward had he thought of me.

I slowly traced my finger around the rim of the glass and gave him a faint smile.

It was sarcastic, filled with disbelief. I didn’t believe a word he was saying.

"That’s why you were with her the night before. You were with her during the disaster, and even afterward, she was still the first person you asked about."

When I finally lifted my head after saying all of that, Theodore looked as though he had never realized it himself.

"Gigi is a very good friend of mine, Verity. We’re really close. It’s like..."

Before he could say any more nonsense, he caught the look on my face and shut his mouth.

He understood that I wasn’t interested in hearing his excuses.

"Then go tell all of this to Gigi. I’m sure she’ll love hearing it," I replied sarcastically before pointing toward the door. "I’d like to rest too."

Theodore planted his hands on his waist, then tilted his head all the way back.

"What do you want me to do?" he asked, stepping toward me.

I immediately backed away.

This time, however, he didn’t stop.

My back eventually touched the wall, and Theodore closed the remaining distance between us.

He placed both hands against the wall on either side of me, caging me between his arms, then lowered himself closer to my height.

"Tell me. What do you want me to do?" he asked softly, bringing his face closer to mine.

"I don’t want anything," I replied. "I just want peace."

"And you don’t want me?" he asked in a quiet, gentle voice.

The hair on the back of my neck rose.

When I lifted my eyes, I realized just how close he was.

He was incredibly handsome. Looking at him was enough to make my heart skip a beat.

"If you want me to spend less time with Gigi, I’m willing to do that."

Another jolt went through my heart.

"And I’m not just saying it. I’ll show you. I’ll prove to you that you’re important to me. More important than anyone else."

As he spoke, he leaned an inch closer and pressed his lips against my cheek.

He didn’t pull away.

For a moment, we simply stayed there, breathing.

Then, finally, he gave my cheek one last soft kiss before drawing his lips away.

He finally pulled back.

Then he turned around and looked at me.

"Thank you for saving Jenna’s dignity," he said before walking out of the room.

That was the thing about them.

The moment it involved a girl from their own family, they became incredibly emotional.

Maybe that was exactly what had happened with Gigi too.

When they first found out what had happened to her, they had reacted with so much aggression.

But that wasn’t their only crime.
