Verity:
Flashback Continues:
He moved toward the elevator, his eyes flicking to the display.
I had already taken the stairs.
The rest of the day passed uneventfully. I didn’t meet Alpha King Ragnar. He never came in.
I didn’t see Theodore again either.
He hadn’t left his office by the time I did.
I stayed in the general lobby most of the day, flipping through magazines and going over my duties with the HR manager.
When it was time to go home, I stepped out into the parking lot.
I spotted Theodore by his car, his attention fixed on his phone.
I kept behind a few cars, watching him, as another man approached the car beside his.
"Brother!"
Theodore lifted his head, his tone lighter.
He spread his arms as if they had not seen each other in years.
It was Alpha King Jaguar.
I went still at the sight of them.
These were the men who had stripped my brother and recorded him.
Their lives had moved on.
As if nothing had happened.
Nothing about them showed what they had done.
Jaguar was tall, nearly Theodore’s height. Lean, but built in a way that made his shoulders seem broader.
His hair fell long at the back, neater at the front, framing his face. Even from a distance, his green eyes stood out.
He gave Theodore a firm pat on the back.
The sight of them standing so close twisted something in me.
Because of them, my brother was gone. Seeing them like this, laughing and at ease, felt wrong.
They kept talking, laughing, and I turned to leave before I lost control.
I could not afford to break down here. Not now.
As I was about to leave, a woman’s cheerful voice cut through the air.
I stopped and turned back.
"Baby, I missed you so much today."
It was the same woman I had seen earlier with Theodore.
She walked up, smiling, and wrapped her arms around Jaguar.
For a moment, I just stared and then my jaw hit the floor.
At that moment, it made sense.
She was not Theodore’s girlfriend.
She was Jaguar’s.
She had been in his brother’s bed.
Behind his back.
The corners of my lips slowly lifted.
So they were not untouchable after all.
"How was your day?" Jaguar asked, cupping her face in his hands and pulling her in for a kiss.
"It was amazing."
As she answered, I noticed her eyes flicker to the side ever so slightly.
And I understood.
I had discovered a secret about them, one that I could always exploit.
End Of Flashback.
The moment I got home, I threw my bag aside.
Even then, I couldn’t calm down.
I anxiously paced around the living room.
Jaguar getting back together with his ex was not a good thing.
And not just any ex.
