Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All novel Chapter 70

Chapter 70: 70-Beg For My Body

Verity:

When I came to the office the next day, Theodore definitely saw me.

I mean, we crossed paths in the parking lot, but neither of us stopped to acknowledge the other or even make eye contact.

When we went inside, I decided to greet him as the Alpha King he was.

"Good morning, sir," I said while walking past him.

However, he was on his phone with one hand in his front pocket, and he only gave me a vague nod, merely acknowledging that I was there, the same way he would any other employee.

Once I reached Jaguar’s floor, I saw Aster again. This time, however, she was not alone. She was standing face-to-face with Gigi.

"I hope there is no animosity anymore," Aster said, making me slow down and slip behind a pillar.

Thankfully, there was nobody around, so I could eavesdrop on their conversation.

"Of course there isn’t. I was never hostile toward you, Aster," Gigi replied, causing me to internally roll my eyes.

Because if there had been any negativity between them, it had definitely come from Gigi.

But Aster was not much better.

She was incredibly mean, and now that she was back in the office, I knew the bullying would start again.

She would make female employees cry and then have male employees laughing at them.

That was her style. She always claimed she got along surprisingly well with men.

Well, don’t we all?

We Pick me’s were a different breed. I was never a Pick me, but I had turned into one because apparently being a Pick me gets you achieve your goals easily.

"Of course it wasn’t you. I think I just got a little too upset—a little too jealous of how close you and Jaguar were," Aster responded, and I immediately realized something.

So their relationship had fallen apart because of Jaguar and Gigi’s closeness.

And because Jaguar had broken up with Aster for Gigi, shouldn’t that have put something in Aster’s mind?

Maybe her assumptions had been right. Maybe the relationship had been inappropriate.

But I digress.

"As an Alpha’s daughter, I was never taught to share. That’s why I acted that way," Aster added, casually throwing her rank into the conversation.

At that moment, I realized why Gigi was so insecure around her.

Gigi was only a beta’s daughter, albeit a royal beta who received privilege because of Ragnar. Aster, on the other hand, was an Alpha’s daughter.

Possibly, that made Gigi feel insecure.

And honestly, I could tell Aster was headed down the same path, just from a different angle. She was also working her way through the brothers, only differently than Gigi.

Well, more like me.

Flashback:

"Who the fuck has the file?"

A loud velvety and dominating voice thundered from the office.

The file he was yelling for was in my hands.

I had taken it home to study it.

And I thought I’ll be able to put in the best first impression maybe when I’ll come prepared.

But now he was screaming his head off and I was frightened for that first meeting.

Alpha King Ragnar!

I haven’t ever met him in person, or even spoken with him.

I have only heard things about him.

I gently knocked on his office door.

"Fucking come in!"

I knew he would prevent my fall.

He was tall and strong.

A protective type.

However, the minute I reached closer to him while in the midair, he quickly side stepped to avoid any touch.

I landed straight on the floor in front of everyone with a thud.

A burst of laughter came from the female colleagues while the male colleagues started to gather around me to help me up.

It wasn’t just the failure but the embarrassment as well that made me take some time to get up from the floor and raise my eyes.

Alpha King Ragnar had continued to walk over to his seat and sit down.

The female colleague collected the file from the ground and quickly placed it for Alpha King Ragnar.

"Sir, she has an injury on the chin--," one of the male colleagues uttered as he pointed towards my chin.

"If she doesn’t get her head in the right place, she won’t just end up injured or else she’ll end up with an expulsion letter," Ragnar hissed, without anyone even turning to look at me.

Sadly, my first impression of him was ruined.

Later that day, I did find a bandage on my desk, and upon asking around, I found out that Alpha King Ragnar had told them to leave it for me.

They had not even asked me once if I was doing okay.

But at least it was my first day.

I was going to get better at my job and definitely catch Ragnar’s attention, although he seemed like a very strong man, not one who was easily swayed by women.

But I was not just any woman.

I was Verity Swan, and I had sworn to make these alphas sit at my feet and beg for my body and affection.

End Of Flashback.
