(✧◡✧) Master! This is a journey of heart and fate!

Be patient... She’s broken now, but perhaps you’re the one who can help her become whole again.

[This quest will evolve depending on your choices.]

’...So after an evolving system, now I’m getting evolving quests?’ He lightly shook his head.

’So, anyway, I need to gain her trust and uncover her identity?’ He slowly glanced at the green-haired girl and shook his head. ’This won’t be easy.’

[That’s why there’s no time limit given, Master! You have lots of time to help her open up to you.]

He hummed in agreement and turned to Edgar. "Uncle Edgar, how will I explain about her back at home? I can’t just say I decided to bring home an elven slave, right?"

Edgar chuckled. "Well, that is for you to think about, Young Master. We can’t help you with that."

Orion resignedly released a soft exhale. "Looks like I’ll just tell them what I can."

Edgar nodded but didn’t comment further.

On the rest of the journey, Orion tried to communicate with the elven girl a few times, but each attempt turned out to be a failure.

He gave up and just enjoyed the view as they entered the third ring and then the second ring.

"We are here, Young Master! Time to take the missy home." Lucan grinned from behind the window while looking at Orion.

He lightly shook his head as he saw Edgar getting off the carriage. He followed after and descended as well. Turning around, he saw the girl sitting there motionless.

’Is she perhaps mentally disabled?’ he inwardly wondered before gently reaching out to her hand and pulling her out of the carriage.

"Ah, lad, you are ba—" Eldric came out of the mansion with a smile, which soon froze as his gaze landed on the elven slave.

"Hmm? Is he here?" Selene’s voice came from behind as she exited the mansion’s gate, pausing at the entrance.

"Cough, you guys need to listen to my explanation," Orion hurriedly said before they jumped to conclusions.

Eldric softly nodded and gestured for him. "Alright, come inside everyone. We can discuss more there."

Lucan and Edgar excused themselves and ran away from the trouble, leaving Orion alone to handle it.

He gently shook his head, grabbed the girl’s hand softly, and followed Eldric and Selene inside the building.

[Aren’t you shaking your head too much lately, Master? (●__●)]

She seemed to ooze a natural charm that calmed all who saw her, yet there was a faint hint of despair in her otherwise otherworldly aura.

Orion’s eyes widened slightly in surprise. He hadn’t expected her to be such a beauty. ’Damn... I won’t curse you from now on, Lumi.’

[Hehehe~ (灬º‿º灬)]

"So that’s her true appearance?" Orion asked Selene.

"Yes, dear," Selene softly nodded while patting the girl’s head. "Someone placed an illusion spell on her for some reason. Probably so no one could recognize her. And it’s a quite high-level spell."

Eldric turned to Orion. "So, what do you plan to do with her? Keep her with us? Or what?"

Orion lowered his head in contemplation. Eldric and Selene looked at each other and decided to give him time.

After a short few seconds, he raised his head. "I don’t think she’s in any condition to leave by herself. And I still have many things I need to confirm with her."

Selene nodded her head. "Then we’ll keep her with us. She’ll be your third maid."

Orion hesitated. "Maid? Are you su—"

"She’s already your slave, and being your maid isn’t a shame but an honor. You are my grandson, after all," Selene proudly declared.

Orion swallowed what he was about to say, instead agreeing with her. "Then I’ll take her away. She needs a good bath."

Selene mischievously smiled. "Will you bathe her?"

"Huh? No! Of course not. Rina and Fiora will help her with the bath," Orion quickly rejected. He didn’t want to taint his image in his grandmother’s eyes. frёewebnoѵēl.com

"Hehe, I’m joking. You should go," she fondly smiled and patted his head.

Eldric shook his head, watching her tease Orion again. "Don’t tease him too much, lest he starts hating you."

Selene shook her head confidently. "Of course he won’t hate me. He would hate you first before me, if anything."

Eldric’s lips twitched. Sighing lightly, he took out an envelope. "Well, at least the damn dean of that academy replied. Orion can go there now whenever he wants and register. But he’ll have to take the tests himself—the dean wants to see my grandson’s capabilities."
