The orb glowed with dual colors, intermixing both a crackling purple and holy white as the crowd felt a sudden pressure on their very foundation.
The rings surrounding the orb began to light up as if exploding. One. Two. Three.
The crowd held their breath, witnessing the birth of a talent worthy of leading an entire kingdom.
Four. Five. Six.
Even Orion’s gaze turned serious looking at the increasing number of Mana Channels she had opened. ’Goodness, she truly is royalty,’ he silently thought to himself.
Everyone’s breath halted as they saw the light spread from the Sixth Ring to the next.
BOOM!
The spread of dual colors finally claimed the Seventh Ring before halting, making it clear she had opened Seven Mana Channels during her awakening.
The rings slowly stabilized and glowed with a pure white lotus symbol, marking her light affinity.
One of the assessors who was waiting for her results excitedly announced, "Lady Arya has opened Seven Mana Vessels. Capacity: Peak. Affinity: Tier Four Light and Tier Four Thunder."
The entire crowd buzzed with fervent discussion. No one had expected the Princess to have such a monstrous foundation and potential. Even in the history of the entire Thunderpeak Kingdom, only a scant few stood on equal footing with her.
’Holy shit, she was that talented?’ Orion himself was shocked. ’Hmm... Change of plans, Lil Lumi, I can’t make a worse impression on the crowd, right? Dual Element users are becoming fucking common now.’
[YESSSS! Finally, you get it, Master!!!✧(>o<)ノ✧ It’s time to unleash your full potential and let the peasants know who the true genius here is.]
Orion’s lips twitched. ’No need to go so far, listen here, you will do...’ he quickly told her what he needed to do.
[Uh, are you sure, Master? You had told Grandpa Eldric and Grandma Selene that you would only reveal your Fire and Light element in front of others. (>﹏<)]
Orion’s lips twitched. ’They told me Dual Affinity users are rare, but they are fucking everywhere here. And since there are Dual Affinity users in this Kingdom alone, then according to the usual trope, there will be Three Affinity users in the Empires. I must stay above them.’
[...Th-that’s true.]
’It is easier to convince the crowd that I’m a naturally gifted genius than to convince them that I gained an affinity later. I don’t want assassins after my ass just to know how I learned an affinity.’ He inwardly exhaled.
[...But won’t they be after your ass regardless due to your talent? (。•́︿•̀。)]
Orion shook his head. ’You don’t understand, they will only be after me to kill me, so a genius like me won’t become strong. However, I will still have the support of this Kingdom and other factions with whom I will form relations later. But if it’s a topic about affinity gaining, then no one would want to help me, everyone will be after my secret of gaining affinity.’
[Looks like you thought this through, Master. But don’t you plan on learning more affinities? Won’t others find out about them eventually?]
He nodded his head. ’Yes, but by then I will be strong enough to protect myself. I chose the Light Element to connect with the Holy Church, the Fire Element, so I can learn Runesmithing or other paths. Wind can be used for most other tasks, such as running away or stealing treasures. Wood is good for defense as we discussed, and it will help with herbs.’
[Alright, alright, Master, you won. I will do as you had instructed. \(≧▽≦)/]
While on the stage, Arya gently removed her hand from the testing orb and took a step back. Turning towards Emilia, she softly said, "Emilia, it’s your turn now."
While those from the top noble houses looked at her with caution, fully realizing a new rival had come here.
The glowing started to slow as the Fifth lit up with brilliant purple and blue colors, but that wasn’t the end of it as it slowly inched towards the Sixth ring and lit it up.
The crowd loudly cheered as their academy gained another top-tier genius. However, a few people weren’t all too happy about gaining another tough candidate.
The orb and the rings stabilized, and an image of a Rainy Thundercloud appeared in it.
The examiner smiled and announced the results. "Candidate Emilia Ashborn. Mana Vessels: Six. Mana Capacity: High. Affinity: Tier Three Thunder and Tier Three Water."
Emilia took a deep breath and removed her hand from the glowing orb, taking a step back before turning around and arriving in front of Arya.
She bowed and said, "Thankfully, I didn’t embarrass you, Lady Arya."
Arya, for the first time, gently smiled. "You did more than well enough. Rise."
The entire crowd’s heart melted at her gentle smile.
However, the examiners weren’t in any mood to enjoy the scene. "Cough, Lady Arya, Candidate Emilia, if you will, please step off the platform. The test is ongoing."
Arya lightly bowed towards the examiner by lifting her skirt from one side in an aristocratic style. "Pardon us, and thanks for having us here."
Emilia nodded and followed Arya down with them. They didn’t bother to stop and walked towards the exit.
