First Legendary Dragon: Starting With The Limitless System novel Chapter 79

Chapter 79: Elemental Freak

Orion rubbed his chin, "Hmm... how many demons have they caught by now?"

Arya lightly exhaled, "More than what we would have liked. They spawn like lotuses and never end no matter how many we kill."

Orion softly shook his head and decided to change the topic, "So anyways, since when can we start the classes? The test seems to be ongoing."

Arya giggled softly, "Already can’t wait for the classes? We still need to wait 2 more days. The test will continue till tomorrow. Then they will take a day to compile everyone’s results. Then on the third day, there will be a ceremony for all the new students."

He looked at her speechlessly, making her softly laugh, "Hehe, did you think there wouldn’t be anything like that just because it’s a Royal Academy?"

"Haa... well then we should head back home, it’s already past afternoon." He looked towards the sky to see the sun slowly lowering down.

Arya nodded her head, "I should head back home as well. I can’t wait to tell Father and Mother about you, they will be so happy for you."

Orion chuckled at her words and took a glance at Emilia’s spear. Ever since she arrived, he had been getting a feeling as if the spear was staring at him.

"Nice spear you got there," he lightly commented, seeing her silently stare at him.

She narrowed her eyes at him and directly said, "It’s a family heirloom."

[Yeah yeah, just an old rusty spear collecting dust in an idiot’s family.]

A sarcastic voice came out from the spear directly into Emilia’s hand. She tightened her grip and ignored its words.

Arya took a look at the spear, "That spear has been with the Ashborn family for a long time. Each generation’s heir wields it. It has a larger, richer history than some of the nobles." She lightly giggled at the end of her words.

He speechlessly took a look at her, "Why do you always take a jab at nobles?"

She stuck her tongue out at him and walked back to Emilia, "Hehe, ’cause I don’t like them."

He shook his head as he saw the two of them walking away, their backs finally fading after a while.

"Now, it’s just me again." He stretched his hands, ’Show me the rewards, Lil Lumi. What did I get this time?’

[You were fucking awesome there, Master...(๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ]

A single floating orb that was called the Academy Eye hovered at the center of the inner chamber, projecting visions from every corner of the campus. From the entrance gates to the deepest training grounds, nothing escaped its sight—except the private training grounds.

As the dean of the academy, it was beneath her to spy on the secrets of her students.

And beneath the orb sat a woman.

Young, yet old. Strong, yet weak. It was a contrasting existence that seemed to distort the space around her. Her long silver-blue robe shimmered faintly, reflecting lightning from the storm above. Her eyes, sharp as twin thunderbolts, were half-closed as she sipped tea from a cracked jade cup.

She was the Dean of Thunderhall Royal Academy.

And at this very moment, her eyes opened slightly wider.

"Elemental Freak, huh?" she muttered, letting the words linger in the air. "How many thousands of years has it been since someone with four elemental affinities has been born? Or has there even been one with four elemental affinities?"

She raised one finger, and the Academy Eye shifted, projecting Orion’s face mid-laugh as he inwardly bickered with Lumi, walking across the courtyard like any other student.

"Hmm... is he crazy? Why is he laughing and chuckling to himself? Or..." She closed her eyes and thought for some time. "Does he have some treasure with consciousness? Hmm, that would make more sense."

She then focused her gaze as runes flashed in her eyes, looking deeply toward Orion. However, suddenly, he turned his head and gazed straight into the Academy’s Eye. Her breath caught as their gazes aligned. No—locked. In that single instant, the entire projection fizzled. The Eye... blinked, shattering the connection then and there.

Anyone else would have only seen his confused face turning toward the Academy’s Eye, however, the Dean saw more.

She saw a juggernaut of a monster in that human body.

"Was... that the manifestation of his potential?" She frowned and thought long and hard. "I don’t sense any demonic presence on him, and he seemed a pure human..."

After a while, she shook her head and simply whispered, "He will bring change..." A storm rumbled far above in the clouds in response.
