Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 138

Chapter 138

“You’re not leaving!” Catherine rushed to the foyer and blocked the door.

Rebecca halted, looking at her calmly.

Catherine’s eyes burned with anger. “Do you really think that if you get me locked up, Vance will love you?

Rebecca smiled faintly, seeing no need to explain herself.

“You think it’s funny? You think you’ve won?” Catherine continued, her voice rising. “Dream on. Even if I go to prison, he won’t forget me. He’ll only hate you more.”

Rebecca studied the furious woman in front of her. The words had no power anymore. Vance’s attitude or preferences could no longer affect her.

She smiled again, satisfied with her progress, but that only infuriated Catherine further.

“Do you have any idea how much he loves me?” Catherine huffed. “I left him five years ago, and when I returned, he still cherished me. Look around-the whole house was decorated to my taste. The code on the door? My birthday.”

“The deed is in my name,” Rebecca responded flatly.

Catherine choked. “After five years, he still remembers the 100 promises he made to me. He wants to finish every unfinished thing we planned. He knows exactly what I like to eat and what colors I love. He never buys me the wrong clothes or shoes. If I want roast duck confit from Arelmoor today, he’ll buy tickets and fly me there tonight.”

Rebecca nodded. “Sounds like true love.”

Catherine smiled smugly, but Rebecca sighed dramatically, “Too bad you don’t have the marriage

certificate.”

“What do you have besides a piece of paper?” Catherine sneered. “Does he love you? One word from me, and he’ll get anything I want-luxury bags, expensive watches, and villas. He’ll do anything to satisfy my

needs.”

“So all those unfinished things, all the luxury items, the watches, and the villas-he’s paying for everything?” Rebecca asked deliberately.

“Of course!” Catherine lifted her chin proudly. “He never hesitates. As long as I ask, his money flows straight to me.”

Rebecca lowered her head, pulled out her phone, and waved it. “Thank you for that testimony. And I’m sure all those purchases are nicely documented. Sorry, but my advantage is that I can sue to reclaim marital assets. I’ll take back every penny spent on your unfinished business, your designer bags, your watches, and your villas.”

Catherine’s face paled. “You wouldn’t dare!”

“What’s there to be afraid of?” Rebecca countered. “A lawyer will do the trick, and I’ll use Vance’s money

to hire them.”

“W-What else do you have besides money? You gold-digger!” Catherine shouted in exasperation.

HE

Rebecca remained composed. “Yes, but unfortunately for you, Vance’s money is legally mine too.”

She felt a little childish saying it, like kids fighting over toys. It seemed rather pointless. Honestly, she wouldn’t even want to confront Catherine if the latter hadn’t come charging at her like that.
