Chapter 158
Vance looked at the lyrics on the screen, singing, “Even if everything restarts, I won’t change my decision. I choose you.”
Catherine sang along: “I choose you, oh… I will definitely love you…”
Vance’s phone buzzed on the table, but the loud music drowned it out. Nearby, Aiden saw Nancy’s name flashing on the screen. He glanced at Vance, who was lost in the song, and pressed the answer button.
The music was too loud, so he didn’t turn on his speakerphone. Snippets about Rebecca reached his ears, irking him.
Was Rebecca spying again? It was infuriating. Without a word, he set the phone back on the table and let the music flood through.
“I will love you until the end of time. I will always be with you…”
Nancy’s dropped phone blared the duet. Vance’s voice was unmistakable. She scrambled to turn it off, nearly crawling to do so.
Her eyes glistened as she turned to see Rebecca wrapped in a bath towel. The latter had heard it all.
“I’m so sorry, Madam. I’m useless,” Nancy choked, guilt-stricken.
Vance had ditched Rebecca to have fun with his mistress. It was heartbreaking.
Nancy blamed herself for slipping earlier, which had sent both Rebecca and her crashing to the floor. She sprained her ankle in the fall, but that didn’t matter.
She couldn’t let Rebecca lie on the bathroom floor all night, so she had called Vance, hoping to bring him back. But in her panic, she had dropped the phone and accidentally hit the speakerphone button.
Rebecca shook her head, knowing it wasn’t the time to care about love songs. “I don’t know where my phone is. Use yours to call an ambulance and property management.”
She tried rising for clothes, but dizziness got the better of her.
Earlier, she had dozed off in the tub. Nancy’s pull had jolted her awake.
Now her feet were still unsteady. As she gripped the tub for support, she lost her balance and fell back down.
“Madam, don’t move!” Nancy cried.
Rebecca blinked, turning around to find Nancy’s hands covered in blood. Nancy’s voice trembled.” Madam, you’re bleeding. Please don’t move.”
Rebecca looked down and realized her towel had slipped. Blood was seeping through.
The fall brought a sharp pain to the back of her head. She reached back and felt wet. Bringing her hand

back into view, she saw it was stained with blood.
“Madam!” Nancy gasped.
Rebecca remained calm despite the haze. “Request a female guard from management.”
“Okay.” Nancy grabbed her phone.
The screen still displayed the call record, and her heart ached for Rebecca once again.
In the private room, Aiden ended the call and eyed the duo. Her finger swiped across the screen, deleting the log, and she smiled smugly.
Thankfully, Catherine knew Vance’s phone password and had shared it with him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to do this.
Vance deserved happiness. Over the years, he and Catherine had both suffered too much.
