The crowd rushed over to watch the spectacle. Some even started live-streaming the fight. One of them held up his phone and narrated the brawl like a ringside commentator.
By the time Rebecca arrived, the two men were already rolling on the ground in a chaotic tangle.
“Stop fighting! You’re making a spectacle!” she shouted, trying to separate them. “Do you want this all over the internet?”
Desmond gained the upper hand, pinning Vance down. “I don’t care!”
Vance took the chance to grip Desmond’s throat until his face turned purple.
“You don’t care either?” Rebecca locked her arm around Vance’s neck from behind and yanked backward with all her strength.
She tried to pull them apart but ended up choking him. Desmond broke free and drove a vicious kick into his ribs, ready to hit again.
Vance growled, “Rebecca, you’re pulling for him!”
His words came out in strangled gasps, but she kept her jaw clenched and her arm locked tight. “No more fighting!”
“You’re choking me!” he wheezed between violent coughs. “What the hell are you doing?”
Catherine rushed up and desperately threw herself between the two men. “Don’t hit him! It was my fault.
Hit me instead. Let him go.”
The imprint of Desmond’s slap still burned bright on her cheek. Vance looked up at her, then turned to Rebecca with difficulty. “You always say I favor Cathy. Now you see why.”
Rebecca stared at him in disbelief. “Are you that stupid? Please keep your mind straight until the divorce is final. I don’t want to walk away with nothing but debt.”
How could he not see through such obvious manipulation?
His voice turned ice-cold. “All you care about is money! You’d choke me for an outsider. You were never like this before. I’m so disappointed.”
“Cathy!” he called out.
Catherine fluttered over like a butterfly, tears spilling. “I’m sorry for running my mouth and dragging you into this. Rebecca, I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t apologize to her.” He cut her off, pointing at the red marks on his own neck. “Let go. I’ll apologize to you.”
Hing? And to whom exactly?”

Desmond echoed, “As the boyfriend of Miss Foul Mouth here? Apologizing to your wife?”
The onlookers whispered among themselves.
“Wait, what? She is the wife? Then who’s the crying one? The mistress?”
“Looks like it. What a phony bitch!”
“Exactly. How can this guy not see it? Is he stupid?”
Catherine whirled on the crowd and snapped, “You’re the mistress! We’re just friends who understand each other perfectly. Are you all blind? His wife colluded with her lover to beat him up.”
Desmond cracked his knuckles. “Oh, really? Let’s find out who the real home-wrecker is. We’ve got a live audience and people streaming. Why don’t you show everyone those Instagram posts you made?”
She backed down, panicking, but he pressed on with a cunning smile. “Including the one you posted and deleted five seconds later. Plenty of people saved screenshots.”
