Rebecca stared at frer phone, tying to text Anna, but the words blurred. Only when her tears fell onto the screen did she realize she had been crying

She wiped her eyes, cleaned the screen, and texted Anna that the three men had been taken to the hospital. She promised to ask for the location and let Anna know.

Just then, her phone rang again. She hesitated for a moment, then answered the call.

“Rebecca, where are you?” Denise sounded anxious.

“I’m at home,” Rebecca replied, trying to keep her voice steady.

“Thank goodness.” Denise sighed in relief. “Don’t go out recently. If you have something urgent, make sure to bring extra bodyguards with you.”

“Why?”

“Someone wants to hurt you. It’s Catherine. You have to be careful.”

“How do you know?”

Before Denise could finish, the call was suddenly cut off. Rebecca grew worried, wondering if something had happened to Denise.

She quickly called back, and a male voice answered, “Rebecca.”

She realized it was Desmond. “Why are you there?”

“Of course, I came for you,” he replied smoothly. “Heed Denise’s advice, but don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to you.”

The rest of Rebecca’s words stuck in her throat. What kind of angel was Anna? Even at a time like this, Anna was still worried about her.

“I feel so guilty, really…” Rebecca murmured in grave pain. “If things go wrong with Vance, I…”

“Don’t say that,” Anna interrupted, patting her back soothingly. “He will be fine. Don’t worry. It will be okay.”

Rebecca closed her eyes and silently prayed that Vance would be alright.

They arrived safely at the hospital. Gabriel was already waiting in the parking lot with his people.

“Tury are still in surgery,” he said, gripping Rebecca’s shoulders. “We don’t know the details yet, but no news is good news.”

At least, they were still alive, and it meant hope.
