Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 617

In the shouting, Rebecca Stirred awake. The first thing she did was pull on her shoes and run outside.

She raced all the way to the dusty cookie shop, stared at the closed chocolatecolored door, covered her face, and let the tears pour through her fingers.

There were some things she had long forgotten. A casual class assignment. A random doodle

Why did it have to be like this? They had agreed that after the divorce, they would be strangers and never see each other again.

She muttered, Vance, I really hoped we could just be strangers. You don’t have to do anything more for me. Go find your own happiness. If only I had never liked you in the first place, then none of the later stories would have happened.

From that day on, she never saw Vance again. Yet she never forgot his face, because every few days he appeared in her dreams, along with their old classmates and longago events.

Reliving those years in her dreams was so mentally exhausting that she became incredibly sleepy. She had trouble waking up in the mornings and once slept for two full days on one weekend.

Her family grew worried and took her for every test imaginable, but nothing was wrong.

The most frightening episode came during summer break after a tour. She slept for five straight days and woke up in the hospital.

Her family had been terrified and rushed her there. Even the commotion of being moved hadn’t woken her. Still, the hospital found nothing abnormal.

When awake, her body functioned perfectly. She could even perform demanding, highintensity routines.

Her family advised her to pause her studies until they figured out what was wrong. They were afraid she might fall asleep somewhere on campus without anyone knowing.

It happened a couple more times over the summer, but the problem eased once school started. She didn’t stop her studies. Facing everyone’s concern, she promised to come home every night with bodyguards escorting her.

Only then did they agree to let her continue. Fortunately, she didn’t need to go to campus every day. Because she had research to

  1. do.

Gabriel arranged a female bodyguard who could stay with her around the clock.

Under their careful protection, Rebecca made it through year after year. On the day she received her doctorate, the whole family attended her graduation and took photos with her.

That same year, her dance troupe gained international recognition. She began seriously considering whether to stay in Europe or return to the States.

Whatever she decided, she planned to go back to Soliaridge first and visit her old high school. After all, all her dreams had been

about those three years.
