Rebecca didn't dream again for a long time.
In Paris with her family, she welcomed the first snow, followed by many more. They had a lively Christmas and returned to the States for the New Year.
She met with Jenny. The two of them ate, shopped, had afternoon tea, and walked through the old alleys and lanes of Soliaridge from their childhood.
Gabriel had urgent business in Paris and left before the vacation ended. Kaitlyn had rarely come back and wanted to stay longer, so they agreed to wait for Gabriel's next trip to take all three of them back together.
They ended up staying until spring. When schools reopened, Rebecca and Jenny decided to visit their old teachers together. Back on campus, they lingered outside the classrooms where they had once studied.
"Becky, remember? Your seat was right there." Jenny pointed inside the classroom. "I sat next to you."
That was their classroom before they split into arts and science tracks. She and Jenny had sat beside each other, while Vance had been in the same group as her.
"After we split tracks, we changed classrooms. Come on, let's go see the senior building," Jenny said, grabbing her hand and running.
For the sake of the seniors' studies, classes had been moved to a separate old building. When they got there, they found it cordoned off.
"Are they renovating?" Jenny asked a passing student.
"Yeah," the student replied. "This building hasn't been used for a while. The seniors moved to the new building."
"I see." Jenny nodded.
They couldn't visit their old classrooms, but Jenny managed to reach their former homeroom teacher, who was now a vice principal. She pulled Rebecca along to the office.
