Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 765

When they arrived at school and reached the teaching building, the young Rebecca told Darren and Jethro to head back to class first.

She stopped and kept the dejected Vance behind. The shadowy Rebecca floated between the two of them, listening.

Neither of them spoke. The young Rebecca stared straight at Vance, while he kept his head lowered like a problem youth who had made a mistake.

"Vance..." The young Rebecca finally spoke. "Last semester's final exams... you ranked 200th in the science class. What were you thinking?"

"What? 200th?" Rebecca wanted to say Vance deserved a few more slaps, or better yet, a good beating.

Vance remained silent.

The young Rebecca thought for a moment. "Some people say you've been hanging out with people outside of school and have been led astray. But I don't think so.

"You've always been self-disciplined. If you didn't want to go bad, no one could lead you astray. So, does your grandmother know you're like this now?"

Mentioning his grandmother finally made Vance look up, a flash of anxiety in his eyes.

"Don't worry," the young Rebecca said. "I won't tell your grandmother. Compared to you, I feel sorrier for her. I won't let her be heartbroken over an unfilial son like you. I just..."

She paused. "Never mind. This is the last time I'm coming to find you. If you don't want to talk, I won't force you. From now on, it's up to you. If you want to keep falling, then fall. I'll just pretend I never knew you."

Seeing that she was about to leave, Vance finally opened his mouth. "I..."

But nothing more came.

"Is it because of me?" the young Rebecca asked.

The floating Rebecca suddenly remembered what Vance's teacher had said to him. It was something that sounded like comforting him over a breakup.
