Floating among them, Rebecca pondered. Their friendship didn't seem broken, or they wouldn't be sitting together for dinner.

Jethro couldn't let go. He hugged each one of them, crying nonstop and making everyone emotional. Even Jenny and the young Rebecca cried.

Darren comforted them, then suggested calling it a night and sending everyone home.

It was already the early hours of the morning. They went downstairs to catch rides. The young Rebecca had a bodyguard car that could fit four people.

"You guys take the car. I still have something to do," Vance said.

"You take it. I can grab a cab," Darren said after helping the three teary-eyed ones into the car.

"No need. Really." Vance waved a hand. "Get in. I still need to clean up the restaurant."

Darren was silent for a moment. "You're handling the paperwork tomorrow?"

"Yeah," Vance replied. "So, I can take my grandma to Arelmoor sooner."

Darren nodded and patted his shoulder. "Let me know if you need help."

"Go on. I'll be fine," Vance said, pushing Darren into the car.

He watched the car drive away, then went back inside the building and returned to the restaurant. In his office, he began packing his things, like personal items, books he had read, spare clothes, several pairs of shoes, and various odds and ends.

He also took the business license from his desk.

Rebecca floated over and saw it was in Irene's name. That made sense. He hadn't been of age when he opened the restaurant.

Darren had just mentioned paperwork. It looked like the restaurant was changing owners. In the other world, Vance sold it before starting college.
