Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 142

They stared at her blankly, not comprehending for a moment.

Grace’s gaze swept over their faces before finally landing on Dorian, who had remained standing the entire time.

"What about Lilian?"

she asked.

"How is she?"

The question brought a flash of ecstasy to Cassian’s and Lucian’s faces.

They thought it was a sign that Grace was softening.

Cassian scrambled to answer, his tone dripping with eager sycophancy.

"Sister! You… you really do have a good heart!"

"After everything she did to you, you’re still concerned about her!"

"Don’t you worry, that venomous woman is no longer a Hart. We’ve already disowned her!"

"Whether she’s dead or alive, or where she is now, we don’t know and we don’t want to know!"

He tried desperately to distance himself, as if Lilian were a plague to be avoided at all costs.

"Grace, you’re our only real sister!"

Listening to his words, a deeply sarcastic smile touched Grace’s lips.

She didn’t look at Cassian again, turning her gaze back to Dorian.

Dorian looked uncomfortable. He was silent for a moment before answering truthfully.

"After she was sent to the mental hospital, Ethan broke off their engagement."

"When we went bankrupt, no one was paying the hospital bills, so they kicked her out."

"Ethan… Ethan also threw her out of his villa. I heard she’s renting a tiny room in the slums now, just drifting through her days."

Dorian’s voice was low.

Unlike Cassian, he didn’t use vicious words to describe Lilian.

He was simply stating the facts.

"Oh."

Grace nodded, her face still impassive.

"Lilian was your precious treasure, the apple of your eye, your pride and joy."

"But the moment she lost her value, the moment she became a burden, you threw her away more easily than you would a piece of trash."

"You couldn’t even be bothered to find out if she was dead or alive."

"Cassian, Lucian, do you know what that means?"

Her voice was as cold as ice.

"It means that your coldness and selfishness are etched into your very bones. They have never changed."

"You’re kneeling here today not because you regret being blind and hurting me in the past."

"You only regret…"

She paused, shaking her head with a cold sneer before continuing.

"You regret not predicting that I, Grace, would one day make a comeback!"

"What you regret is backing the wrong horse!"

"If I were still that same Grace with nothing to her name today, would you even spare me a second glance?"
