Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 17

Employment?

Grace was taken aback.

Her reputation was in ruins, and she was a pariah in her field. Who would possibly hire her?

Seeing her reaction, Felix smiled and explained.

“Mr. Clarke said he is not investing in your past, but in your talent and your future.”

Grace was left speechless.

She couldn’t believe it.

Investing in her future?

“I’m sorry, Mr. Warren, I...” Although she didn’t want to miss the opportunity, she couldn’t shake the thought: there’s no such thing as a free lunch.

Felix, seemingly unsurprised by her hesitation, rephrased his offer.

“Ms. Hart, we are not demanding you start immediately.”

“We simply want to offer you... a platform to clear your name.”

He stood up, walked to the window, and pressed a button.

The heavy velvet curtains swept open.

Beyond the massive floor-to-ceiling window was... a laboratory so vast it defied imagination.

Through the glass, she could see rows upon rows of cutting-edge precision instruments.

Dozens of researchers in white lab coats were busy at their stations, working in a calm, orderly fashion.

The scene was grander and more futuristic than any national laboratory Grace had ever seen.

She was stunned by the sight.

“This is Apex Labs, under Mr. Clarke’s company, NovaLink Technologies,” Felix said, a hint of pride in his voice.

“It houses the world’s top supercomputing center and the most advanced research equipment. You will have the highest level of access immediately, and we will provide you with a research team composed of top industry talents to fully support you.”

After his introduction, Felix turned to face her.

“We can help you replicate your experimental data in the shortest possible time.”

Grace covered her mouth.

What was she hearing?

Seeing her indecision, Felix’s tone grew more earnest.

“Ms. Hart, you may not trust us. But please, trust our judgment.”

“Immediately after the incident, NovaLink Technologies’ legal department and team of technical consultants conducted a cross-comparison and technical trace on your paper and Miss Hart’s.”

“The conclusion is—”

He enunciated each word clearly.

“We believe you did not commit academic fraud.”

*We believe you.*

Those three words shattered all of Grace’s defenses.

Ethan didn’t believe her.

Her father, her brothers, the family she had given her heart and soul to—not a single one of them believed her.

They only accused her, insulted her, and dragged her name through the mud.

But now, a complete stranger had used the most rational means to grant her the most absolute trust.
