Sienna’s POV
“To start with, Vina said, “I truly adore the theme you created. It’s relatable, heartfelt and the characters are compelling. Romance readers are drawn to stories like this with your writing style gentle yet incisive.”
My cheeks flushed. I aimed to remain professional. “Thank you. I believe the manuscript is not flawless yet.”
“That’s typical,” Vina answered, flipping open her folder.” That’s our role. Should you decide to collaborate with Moonlight Publishing we’ll assign an editor, a cover artist and a marketing crew, for media campaigns. You won’t be handling everything by yourself.”
I gave a nod even as my hands quivered slightly around my coffee cup. It seemed like a dream stunning moving too quickly. “I honestly didn’t imagine getting this,”I confessed.
Vina grinned not a courteous smile but one that showed genuine admiration for the journey. “The fact that it caught you off guard means you wrote from your heart.
We sense that on every page. Your manuscript possesses soul. That’s uncommon.”
I bit my lip attempting to keep my smile from growing too broad. “If I say yes what comes after?”
Vina leaned in a bit, her excitement infectious. “Initiallywe’ll sign a Letter of Intent. It’s like an agreement. After that our editor will reach out to you. The complete editing typically takes around two months. Then comes the cover design, formatting and ultimately the launch date.”
“Release date.”
That expression by itself instantly compelled me to hide my face due, to a mix of shyness and joy.
Vina remarked, “The best part is this: Livia mentioned that you’re the kind of author who maintains consistency.
That’s an advantage for us. Once you finish your book if you wish to create a series or pen another novel our doors will be fully open.”
I inclined myself a bit. “You genuinely want to collaborate for the long haul?”
“Certainly.” Vina regarded me with confidence. “We aren’t merely seeking an author for a book. We want writers who can develop alongside us. You possess that capability.”
I stopped breathing. My chest was heavy. Tears threatened to fall. I restrained them. I needed to appear professional. At least make an effort.
I concentrated again. This was the aspect.
“For royalties,” Vina explained, “we provide 12% of the sale price, for the print batch. If the sales perform strongly it typically rises to 15% . updated by jobnib.com You will also receive author copies and chances to participate in meet-and-greet sessions or book signings.”
I gave a nod.
That was above average and more than enough for me.
Vina proceeded to display samples of book formats, cover designs and typical styles they employed. All of them appeared polished contemporary, tidy and in sync, with market preferences.
“For the cover design we typically offer three ideas. You may select one. Modify them until it suits your preferences.”
I browsed the sample pages attentively. It seemed as though a realm I had merely pictured previously was now unfolding directly before my eyes.
“I want to make sure you feel at ease,” Vina said. “Because, for us writers aren’t providers of manuscripts. You’re collaborators.”
That statement in some way nearly brought me to tears.
I set the sample pages down carefully. Glanced at Vina.
“I.” I paused to inhale. ” genuinely value this proposal.
I bowed my head inhaling deeply to keep the tears at bay. ”
It’s been ages since I heard news, like this.”
Vina remained silent yet her eyes comprehended. Perhaps Livia had shared some details about my life with her..
Possibly she sensed something in my eyes the marks of fatigue past injuries gradually mending and a faint bravery beginning to emerge again.
“You have earned it,” she whispered gently.
I grinned.
Vina summoned the waiter to request drinks. At the time gazed out the window allowing this reality to gradually settle in.
I had ultimately made the move as an author.
No more a fantasy concealed inside my laptop. No more a tale I guarded alone. This was genuine.
What made me feel even cozier was the thought of going afterward and sharing everything with Liam. With my family.
The server came over. Give me the menu.
“Feel free to pick whatever you want,” Vina said warmly with a smile.”TIl have a cappuccino and a slice of red velvet cake,” | said, handing the menu back.
