Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 240

Sienna’s POV

While everyone started clearing their things and raising a voice, from the side of the table said, “We’re almost finished. Would you like to share anything before we wrap up today’s meeting with Sienna?”

I stopped, noticing the hope reflected in their eyes focused on me. Feeling surged within me. My hand clenched into a fist resting on the table.

“I just want to express my gratitude,” I eventually said.”

For this chance. I will give it my all.”

They offered a clap, quiet yet sufficient to bring tears to my eyes. I smiled back, at them sensing a bravery growing within me.

Once the meeting concluded Emily and I remained close to the exit. A quiet stillness hung in the air, between us as though anticipating some words to be shared.

“I never thought we’d run into each other here,” murmured.

Emily agreed with a nod. “Same here. Perhaps this is our chance to begin a fresh chapter not only for your book but also for us.”

She gazed at me with eyes, her tone steady as she stated,” I won’t abandon Liam, Sienna. You know Liam respondedwhen I called him? Doesn’t that show he still cares about-me?”

I composed myself locking eyes with her with a boldness I hadn’t realized was within me.

“It was the hospital personnel who contacted him, Emily.

You had been. His number was the sole contact stored in your phone. How could he have not shown up?”

Emily paused briefly, her lips quivering. I went on, ” Besides Liam sought my approval before coming to see you despite feeling guilty. So don’t fault him or me. This isn’t about emotions, it’s about honoring limits.”

Her eyes became red, revealing anger and despair she could no longer conceal. Her tone lifted a bit, “I simply wanted him to realize that l am still present. That I continue to care.”

I breathed out slowly holding back the feelings that threatened to surface. “Emily, if you believe you’re not the pick to be the cover model for my book, l as the author would gladly seek another candidate. This is not merely about my book. It concerns dignity and respect.”

She looked at me, her expression blending confusion with annoyance. I remained steady. Composed. Determined.

Vina looked at me somewhat taken aback by the question.

“Oh? You’re not fond of her?”

I shook my head attempting to select my words with care.

I’m not sure yet. I’m just inquiring. I mean this is a decision and I want to be sure about the choice we decide on.”

Vina nodded with comprehension. “That’s completely reasonable, Sienna. The cover matters a lot. If you don’t feel ready yet just let them know. They’ll surely welcome your feedback.”

Hearing that brought a sense of relief to me. Occasionally significant moves truly need time to seem appropriate. ” Thank you Vina. I only wish for everything to proceed smoothly without being burdened by the past.”

She gave a nod. “I get it. If you require anything whatsoever feel free to let me know.”

We continued walking toward the lobby, and I tried to calm the uneasy flutter inside my chest.
