Emily’s POV
“Yes,” Willy replied. “The contract is substantial. The exposure is wide. This project”
I stopped hearing the rest.
Life Techno Group.
Liam’s company.
My heart beat faster. Then, without holding back, a corner of my lips lifted. Slowly. Surely. A smile that hadn’t appeared in a long time.
“Interesting,” I murmured.
Willy looked at me, slightly hesitant. “Miss, are you okay?”
“Okay?” I repeated. “No, Willy. I’m more than okay.”
I walked away from the window, moving through the living room with lighter steps than before. My chest, which had felt so tight earlier, now seemed filled with fresh air.
“How funny,” I said with a smile. “When everyone thought I had fallen, fate opened the door most relevant.”
Willy blinked, trying to follow my train of thought. “You mean because Life Techno Group belongs to Mr. Liam?”
I stopped walking, turning to him. My smile widened.”Fate never forgets me,” I said softly, full of conviction. just made me wait a little.”
1 walked to the sofa, sitting down with my legs crossed gracefully. My back is straight. I brushed my hair back, as if preparing for the camera.
“Just imagine,” I continued. “A big advertisement. A new ” product. Liam’s company.” | laughed lightly. “You know what that means, right?”
Willy nodded slowly. “Extensive exposure.”
“And one more thing,” ladded, looking straight ahead. “TIL be stepping back into his world. Professionally. With dignity. No one can blame me.”
A sly sense of satisfaction flowed in my voice, but I didn’t care. The world is unfair, I’d said it myself. So if fate finally sided with me, even just a little, I have the right to enjoy it.
“Contact them,” I ordered. “Tell them I’m interested. Very interesting.”
“Yes, Miss,” Willy replied quickly.
I leaned back on the sofa, staring at the high ceiling of my apartment. For the first time, I didn’t feel alone.
Something awaited me ahead, something that connected me back to a life I should never have strayed from.
Liam.
I smiled again, this time more quietly, but with meaning.Fate never forgets me. And this time I will not miss the opportunity it has given me.
I turned to Willy, my eyes sparkling with determination.” Willy, don’t just say ‘okay. Make sure they know I’m serious. I want a full briefing on every schedule, every contract detail, even the team involved.”
Understood?”
He nodded slowly, handing me his phone briefly and looking at me. “Understood, Miss.”
I smiled, this time softer. “Good. It’s the first time in a long while I truly feel in control.”
Willy looked at me again, this time with a hint of admiration. “Miss, I have never seen you like this before.
Like you’re truly ready for anything.”
I shrugged, pretending to be casual. “That’s because I am ready. Liam, his company, a world that thinks I’m weak I don’t care. This time, it’s my turn to lead.”
He smiled faintly. “Alright. I’ll send the emails and wait for confirmation. Miss, are you sure you’re ready for all this?”I stared at him, my gaze full of resolve. “Ready? More than ready. This time, I step in with everything i have. No one can stop me.”
Willy bowed his head slightly, sending the final texts before looking at me again. “Alright, Miss. Everything will be ready. You just need to show them what you can do tomorrow.”
I leaned forward, crossing my arms over my knees. “Willy don’t just say ‘ready.’ Make sure they’re genuinely curious about my arrival. Let them know Emily is back. And this time I will not miss a single opportunity.”
Willy smiled faintly, looking both relieved and slightly tense. “Miss Emily, I think they will be surprised. Very surprised.”.
I smiled with satisfaction, staring out the large window of my apartment. The city at night looked peaceful, but my heart raced for something bigger waiting ahead, something that made all this preparation and planning feel alive and I was ready to face it.
“Alright,” I murmured, half to myself. “Let’s see who wins this time.”
