Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 319

Sienna’s POV

My eyes closed and opened a few times. I was half asleep, half awake, listening to the house breathe in its own way.

There was the soft creak of wood, maybe from the change in temperature. The sound of wind slipping through a window gap, gently stirring the curtain. All the littte things I usually didn’t notice now felt like companions keeping me company.

My thoughts drifted to tomorrow’s plans. Taking Noah to school, making sure his lunch wasn’t forgotten. Finding time to write a page or two no need for perfection, just honesty. Maybe brewing some afternoon tea and sitting by the window, rereading old notes. Simple things that made a day feel whole.

I smiled softly, then yawned. The exhaustion truly arrived now, closing off any space for worry. I let myself sink deeper into the sofa, feeling my weight fully supported.

There was a quiet sense of safety, not loud, not dramatic, just the certainty that tonight I wasn’t alone, even though Liam was far away.

In the middle of my drowsiness, my phone vibrated softly.

I opened my eyes, my heart skipping for a moment, then reached for the phone lazily. Not a call, just a short message from Liam.

[Already resting? I just finished a meeting. Are you both okay?]

Warmth spread through my chest. I typed a reply with fingers that felt lighter than before.

[Yes. Noah’s sleeping soundly. I’m fine too. Don’t forget to eat.]

A few seconds later, a reply came in.

[Already did. Sleep well. I miss you.]

I closed my eyes with a smile, not replying this time. I didn’t need to. Those words were enough to become a second blanket wrapped around my chest.

I turned off the corner lamp, leaving behind a friendly darkness. With my breathing finally steady, I let the night carry away the last traces of anxiety. Tomorrow will come with its own rhythm. And tonight tonight I chose calm.

The day began to brighten when I heard Noah’s bedroom door open, followed by the sound of small feet running toward the kitchen. I was cutting donut dough when his sleepy face appeared from behind the counter, his hair still messy like a little lion’s.

“Mommy, it smells so good! Are you making donuts?!” he exclaimed, instantly energized.

I laughed at the drastic change from drowsy to cheerful.

“Yes, sweetheart. Mommy thought we needed something sweet tonight.”

Noah immediately came closer, his expression full of determination.

“I wanna help! I’m good at it!”

I was about to refuse, but his wide, excited eyes were impossible to say no to.

“Okay, but you have to follow Mommy’s rules, alright?

Don’t eat the dough raw.”
