Chapter 443
Rosalia was strong, dragging the woman, Raven, out with all her might.
But Raven was even stronger. She sent Rosalia crashing to the floor and landed two hard kicks on her legs.
Rosalia squirmed in pain, rolling around on the floor like a helpless grub.

“Ah… it hurts so much,” Rosalia screamed, her voice raw with pain. Raven was looming over her, fierce as ever, and fear clawed at Rosalia’s heart.
Raven marched right up to her, looking down with a mocking grin. “So, you think you’ve got the guts to call the cops? Dragging me out is just your way of saving face, isn’t it?
“Take a good look at these photos. See how pathetic you look? Every cent you stole from my husband, I’ll see you in court for it. I’ll make sure you and that old man are thrown out for good.
“One minute you’re pretending to be innocent, the next you’re acting all cheap. You really think I’m beneath you just because of how I look? Trust me, you’ll hit this age too, sooner or later.
“When I was your age, I was already standing on my own two feet.
“By thirty, I had my own company. This household? I built it from scratch with my husband.
“Men are so damn infuriating. They’re happy to suffer with you, but when it’s time to enjoy the good times, they bail. And they always come up with some high–sounding excuse: messing around outside, pretending to care about the family just to keep up appearances.
“I see too many girls like you, so young and not learning anything worthwhile. Instead of trying to better yourself, you just cling to a man, hoping for an easy life. In the end, you’ll wind up with absolutely nothing.”
The woman gave her a cold glare, then turned and strode out of the café.
Rosalia felt nothing but shame, like she’d been stomped into the dirt. It’s not like she hadn’t tried to shine on her own, but damn, it was just too hard.
Even if she kept grinding until she hit forty, who knows if she’d ever catch a break.
Jolie sneered at her. This time, she was getting revenge for herself. Next time, she’d make sure Serena got her payback
She crouched down and picked up the photos from the floor.
Looking at Rosalía nestled in that old man’s lap, all seductive and shameless, Jolie couldn’t help but feel sick to her stomach.
She tilted her head, eyeing Rosalia thoughtfully. “Rosalia, I helped you out and got you a manager job at one of our family’s companies. Three thousand a month, seriously, isn’t that enough for you?”
“Once you’re officially on board, it’ll be five thousand a month. That’s way more than most people ever see. So why are you still doing stuff like this?”
Jolie gave her a look, pretending not to understand.
Jolie had specifically brought Raven here. After that night, she had people investigate Rosalia and Leon’s relationship, and only then did she realize those two bastards had totally fooled her.
They were from the same town, and grew up together. And because Jolie was loaded, they saw an opportunity.

Both Leon and Rosalia needed money, so they teamed up, and Leon schemed behind Jolie’s back, while Rosalia kept hyping Leon up right in front of her.
Leon, meanwhile, always showed up in front of Jolie as this unwavering, principled guy, someone who’d never bend for money, no matter what.
Jolie had always been surrounded by wealthy people, so she’d never seen anyone as defiant as Leon. For a while, she found herself completely captivated by him.
Leon was smart, too. He knew exactly how to play up his strengths and weaknesses to win Jolie’s trust and sympathy.
Those two had been in cahoots the whole time; only Jolie had been kept in the dark all along.
And Rosalia? She’d been playing Jolie for a fool.
Rosalia already had a respectable job, but even during her downtime, Jolie was busy hooking her up with side gigs as a party
server.
Jolie used to think Rosalia was just hustling to get by–honest, hardworking, and sweet. Now she realized those fancy partys were nothing but fishing grounds for snagging a wealthy guy.
Rosalia looked at Jolie, tears streaming down her face. She shook her head. “Jolie, I didn’t do it, I really didn’t! Why don’t you believe me? Not even you?”
