From His Ex-Wife to the World's Most Sought-After Restorer (Jade and Hudson) novel Chapter 193

"Grandma Emily!"

Then she turned her bright eyes toward Hudson and Bert.

"Grandpa Bert!"

"Daddy Hudson!"

Hudson's face began to soften, but the expressions on Bert and Emily's faces turned to stone.

Emily immediately shoved Cortney away and corrected her sharply.

"Who are you calling 'Grandma'? What kind of nonsense is this?"

Bert looked at Amara, his expression growing darker by the second.

"Did you teach her to say that?"

Amara was blindsided. The blood drained from her face as she trembled, looking at Hudson for help.

"Hudson..."

Hudson immediately moved to shield Amara, pulling Cortney close to his side.

"Dad, Mom, it's just a name. Why are you being so difficult? Ronald was her father, and you watched both him and Amara grow. What's wrong with her calling you Grandpa and Grandma?"

The sight made Emily's blood boil. Her chest heaved as she tried to speak, but the rage was so great she couldn't get the words out.

It took several seconds for her to find her voice.

"You... you..."

She pointed a shaking finger at Hudson.

"Fine. She's Ronald's daughter. 'Grandpa' and 'Grandma' are one thing. But 'Daddy'? You're letting another man's child call you 'Daddy' while your own child is dead? What the hell is wrong with you?"

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Her face was a mottled purple.

"How could you be this foolish?"

Hudson took a deep breath.

"Mom, it's just a title. I was going to have her change it once our baby was born."

Unfortunately, before he could do anything, Jade had ended the pregnancy.

Thinking of the child that would never be, Hudson looked at Jade, a faint sorrow in his eyes.

"You b*stard!"

Bert roared and delivered a sharp slap to Hudson's face.

Hudson's head snapped to the side. Seeing the vivid red marks on his cheek, Amara stepped up beside him, her eyes welling with tears as she looked at Bert.

"Sir, if you don't like the names, I'll have her change them. But Hudson is your son. How can you strike him?"

Bert shot her a murderous glare.

"I'm disciplining my own son. You have no right to speak!"

Amara whimpered and tucked herself closer to Hudson.

Bert's eyes narrowed into slits.

"Is that so? Are you threatening me with the Faith family? Or are you afraid of what they'll find out about you?"

Amara met Bert's gaze for a second before bursting into tears.

"Sir, Emily, why must you push me like this?"

Before anyone could answer, she kept sobbing.

"I only came to Hudson for help. I never asked for much, and he's been so kind to us. I'm grateful. But if my presence is such a burden, then I won't bother him again."

She turned to Hudson and gave him a low, respectful bow.

"Hudson, thank you for everything you've done for us."

Wiping her tears, she stood tall and grabbed Cortney's hand.

"Cortney, let's go."

Cortney looked back at Hudson, tears in her own eyes.

"Goodbye, Daddy Hudson."

The sight made Hudson's heart ache. He instinctively took a step toward them.

Emily and Bert didn't stop him. They stood back, their faces tight.

They wanted to see exactly how far Hudson was willing to go for this woman.
