Chapter 432 I’m More Than Happy to Oblige
Riley had always been tough. She rarely let herself crack like this.
But tonight, she didn’t want to tough it out alone anymore.

She bit her lip in the dark. Under the covers, her body shifted, rustling against the sheets. She moved inch by inch toward the warm presence beside her.
Sebastian thought she’d already fallen asleep. He was about to shift positions when soft, warm surves pressed against his back, carrying a faint chill.
Then a cold little hand slipped around his waist, hesitant and searching, like it was looking for somewhere to land.
Sebastian’s whole body tensed. His eyes opened in the dark, sharp with surprise.
He didn’t move. He let her hand wander along the hem of his shirt until she finally worked up the nerve to wrap her arm around him.
That was when he flipped over. His hand closed around her restless fingers, and he pinned her beneath him, his body caging her in.
His breath grazed the shell of her ear, low and teasing. “What got into you tonight? So forward all of a sudden.”
His voice was barely a whisper, yet it struck her like a live wire. Her face flamed.
She’d scraped together every bit of courage she had to reach for him, and now he was calling her out. Fine. She’d just own it. She pulled her hand free, looped her arms around his neck, and bit his lip in defiance.
“So you’re just gonna watch the show?” Her voice came out muffled in
Sebastian let out a low laugh at the bite. It was unfairly sexy.
the dark.
He was done teasing. He flipped her fully under him, his bigger frame pressing her into the mattress, all heat and weight.
He dipped his head, his mouth brushing hot against her earlobe. His voice dropped to a rough murmur.
“I’m more than happy to oblige.”
The night stretched deep, and they fucked until the sky was halfway to dawn.
Riley was wrecked with exhaustion, but the hollow pit inside her chest felt fuller. Like she’d been lost in a storm–tossed sea and finally found something solid to cling to.
She drifted off in his arms, curled tight against his chest, and slept without a single dream.
Back in Havenbrook, Ashford Manor sat quiet in the dark. Caleb lay propped against the pillows, his face gaunt and worn, but the sharpness in his eyes hadn’t dulled.
Nelson stood beside the bed, delivering the latest report from Nexopolis.
“Sir, news just came in from Nexopolis. The chairman of Harper Group is hosting a family banquet next week. He intends to

formatty announce the return of his biological daughter, the one who went missing years ago.”
Caleb’s eyes flickered. The same thought crossed his mind as it did everyone else’s when they heard the news–Riley.
“Go get Lucas,” he ordered.
A short while later, Lucas walked into the room, handsome but visibly drained, “Grandpa, you wanted to see me?”
“Have you heard about the Harper family in Nexopolis?”
Lucas nodded. “I’ve heard.”
“The daughter they found.” Caleb pinned him with a hard stare. “Could it be Riley?”
Lucas‘ chest seized. He didn’t hesitate. “No. Riley’s still traveling. She won’t be back for at least another six months.”
To sell it, he pulled out his phone and showed Caleb a recent photo of her.
Caleb stared at the image for a long time. Slowly, the tension in his shoulders eased. “Good. That’s for the best.”
Then he shifted gears. “In that case, you’ll go to Nexopolis in a couple of days. Represent the Ashford family at the Harper family banquet.”
Lucas frowned. “Why? Grandpa, you know our business is centered in Havenbrook and overseas. Our Nexopolis operations are weak. We barely have a foothold there.”
“That’s exactly why you’re going.” Caleb’s gaze sharpened. “You know the Harpers‘ position in Nexopolis better than I do. They’ve been entrenched there for decades. Their connections run deep. They’re the fastest, most stable springboard we have if the Ashford family wants to break into that market.
“The gossip around you here in Havenbrook has finally quieted down. You still need a wife. A woman who can actually boost your position. This long–lost Harper daughter is the best option on the table right now. If the Ashford family can lock in a marriage alliance with the Harpers, we’ll be unstoppable.”
