Chapter 538 Identities Revealed
Audrey shot Colin a slightly guilty look, silently signaling him to step back before her brother noticed the charged atmo had just filled the room.
She shook her head. “I’m fine. Colin had my back the whole time. I didn’t get a scratch. Killian’s the one who got hurt. H in to block a bottle for us.”
Riley and Sebastian entered right behind Justin. Riley’s brow was furrowed, a chill radiating from her. “How did it escala fight? Was it Simon and his people again?”
Colin shoved his hands into his pockets and resumed his nonchalant posture. “No. A different bunch of idiots.”
Riley’s expression darkened at that. As the island’s de facto developer and manager, this kind of violence was a direct sla face.
“Clearly, the vetting process for island guests needs work. People with this kind of character shouldn’t be allowed here.”
She dialed Jerold on the spot, her tone sharp. “Jerold, take a few men and detain those troublemakers from tonight. First tomorrow, get them to the police station off the island. I want full legal action taken against them.”
Lying in bed, Killian listened in stunned silence. The woman before him was nothing like the cool, reserved one from the pa decisiveness and command presence were practically regal.
“Riley Oswald… you…” Killian stammered, bewildered. “You’re really that well-connected on this island?”
Riley’s expression softened slightly. Considering Killian had essentially helped protect Audrey, and that the overweight man ultimately harmless, she decided there was no point in hiding anymore.
She gave him a playful wink. “Try replacing Oswald with Harper
“Riley Harper…” Killian muttered the name under his breath, his brain working like a rusted gear grinding painfully.
On the Harper family’s island, the answer was almost too obvious.
Killian felt his world crumble for the second time that night.
“The Harper Group’s heiress!”
Riley stood in the play of light and shadow, her lips curving in a faint, noncommittal smile.
Killian took a deep breath, then suddenly remembered something far more terrifying. He turned his head stiffly and stared wid eyed, at the man standing silently behind Riley. “What about you? Don’t tell me you’re actually…”
“Sebastian Torres,” he spoke flatly.
Killian’s blood ran cold. He even raised his hand and pinched his own thigh hard, wincing at the pain, only to find that this was dream.
His mind flashed back to the afternoon. He’d puffed out his chest and bragged to them about his connections and his high profile betwork. He’d even boasted that he’d already been invited to the Harper Torres wedding.
And all the while, the two people standing before him had been watching him perforin like a circus pet.

At this moment, Killian wished that the bottle had actually knocked him unconscious and erased his memory.
If he could, he would have evaporated on the spot or crawled under the hospital bed to hide forever.
Reality was merciless. He’d always thought running a factory in his small town and driving a tuxury car made him wealthy seeing the presence and the power behind these people, he realized his entire fortune probably didn’t even count as pock money in their world.
“I… I’m sorry,” Killian said, his bluster completely deflated as be shrank into the blanket. “I’m just a small-town guy with no money. I talk big; I’m a blowhard. Please, don’t hold it against someone like me…”
Colin raised an eyebrow at his sudden humility. “What happened to that heroic spirit from the beach? Who said we’re com you?”
He leaned against the window, his tone still insufferably cocky, but the earlier hostility had faded. “Besides, you helped pro Audrey tonight. You’ve earned yourself a favor.”
Colin glanced at Sebastian, whose expression was as unreadable as ever, then turned back to Killian. “Tell you what, when wedding finally happens, I’ll get you a seat at the banquet. Deal?”
Killian’s head shot up, his eyes blazing with newfound hope. “Are you serious? Don’t mess with me!”
“I don’t lie,” Colin scoffed dismissively.
Killian, for all his bravado and vanity, wasn’t a bad person at heart.
