ELOISE.

I woke up to a delivery this morning. A whole lot of things has been happening that made me suspicuus of the package, but tby the time I opened it, I was met with a red shiny dinner gown that looked like it cost a lot, the heels were also blood red. And the jewelries were silver.

I frowned in confusion because I didn’t really understand what was going on until I saw a note. It was also in red. I opened the envelope and read what was on it.

Be ready by 8pm.

And that was it, I had to go around the house asking if Damon was back, but everybody said they had not see him.

And that’s how I found myself here. In front of the huge palace, dressed in the dress from earlier and waiting for the black SUV to reach me. The body guard beside me had an umbreall over my head and I sighed at the dramatics. The car finally got to me and I stepped forward, the back door opened and he stepped out.

Yup, Damon stepped out in all his glory, looking fine as hell. I didn’t want my heart to skip twice at his presence but it did, even more than twice. He looked so good and for some reason, I wanted to jump on him and tell him I’ve missed him, because I have.

He had his shades on as usual and he stretched out his hand for me to place mine in. I did and he helped me into the car, I didn’t miss the way his eyes paused at my overly exposed cleavage. He did get the dress, so he should deal with it. Bu the time he was settled in the car, and we started moving, I had already gotten comfortable.

“Miss me?” he asked in that voice of his that sounded so good.

“You kid yourself.” I said, I’ve missed our banters too, especially the back and forth.

“We’ll see about that.” he replied.

“Where are we going?”

“Youll see when we get there.” he replied. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window, the rest of the ride was silent until then car came to stop. He opened the door and helped me out. By the time I stepped out, there was a glowing red name board at the top of the building.

I looked at Damon, but he didn’t give me an answer yet.

“We will have dinner first.” he said.

I had a lot of questions but he just pulled me along gently. The next few minutes, we had dinner. I couldn’t eat a lot because I was nervous though I did have a lot of wine. I knew this wasn’t the main place he was taking me.

“Are you done?” he asked me and I nodded.

“Good, now let’s go.” he stood up and helped me stand up too.

And then we walked into what looked like another dimension.

The Forbidden Heat is nothing like I’ve ever seen before. The front entrance is a long, dimly lit corridor that opens into a room where shadows are lit in deep red. There are booths and tables, and a backlit bar that shines like a diamond in the shadowy light.

“What is this place?” I ask. It looks like a club, but there is a strange undercurrent in the air that I can’t put my finger on.

“It’s where people come to indulge,” Damon replies hotly in my ear.

I glance around me, taking in the other patrons. It’s a mixed crowd. In the corner, a beautiful redhead dances like she’s in a trance, her back pressed against a man who holds her by the hips and sways with her in time to the music, his face buried in her shoulder.

Across from them, sitting at one of the cocktail tables, a young couple leans in close to one another as they have an intense conversation, but the man’s hands have slid along her thigh and are moving beneath her barely–there hem. Wait, is he…?

I almost jump when an attractive woman with a pixie cut wraps her arm around my waist as she dances past, her eyes fluttering up at me as she offers me a beaming smile.

There’s a lot on offer in that smile, and when she dances away, she keeps glancing over her shoulder at me until a gentleman at the bar steals her attention, and I’m forgotten.

It’s then I see the cages across the room. Two of them. Where dancers in next–to–nothing gyrate against the steel bars, moving their bodies in time to the throbbing beat of the music.

“Don’t look so worried,” Damon says with the casual assurance that is both charming and dangerous.

“You’re quite safe here.”

I don’t feel safe. But I’m not scared either. Something about the club is fascinating. But I can’t explain what it is.
