He called me by my name, he called me by my given name. And I just knew that it was the end of us. Sebastian never called me by my name; even when we were arguing and fighting, he always called me ‘baby.’

It has been fourteen hours since he called me by my name and left. And he hasn’t shown up, he didn’t pick up his calls, at one point the phone was switched off. I was sick with worry.

I have cried my eyes out. I have cried and cried, I didn’t know what to do again. I’ve stress–cleaned, stress–cooked, stress–washed, and done a whole lot of things while crying, but he still didn’t show up. I sat on the couch and dialed Eloise’s number. I knew it was late, but I finally felt like talking to someone, and she was my only friend.

She picked up on the third ring. It was a video call, the room was dimly lit, and I saw that she had been sleeping.

“What’s wrong? Why are you crying?” were the first words that came out of her mouth, and I burst into another round of tears.

“What’s wrong, Lex?” she asked again, sitting up.

“He’s gone, Eloise.” I cried, gasping for air.

“Who is gone?” she asked.

“I told him. I told him that I was pregnant, and then he called me by my name and walked out. I haven’t heard from him in twelve hours, Eloise. T–thats the longest we have gone without speaking to each other. I miss him, but he hates me. He doesn’t want me anymore.” I cried.

“That asshole,” she growled. “Im going to kick his ass, but for now, don’t cry. Please, you’re pregnant. You need to be careful. Crying now will only hurt your health and the baby’s,” she tried to comfort me. “Get dressed, I’ll come and pick you up,” she said, and I shook my head.

“I need to be here in case he shows up. What if he’s hurt?” I asked.

“Sebastian is a big boy. He can handle himself.” Eloise said.

“Im worried about him.”

Eloise moved away from the camera. “Damon, can you please find your friend? He’s worrying my friend, and tell him I’m going to kick his ass for making my pregnant friend cry,” she said. I heard some grumbling, movement, and then the thud of a door closing.

“Damon will find him. Please don’t cry,” she said.

I tried to calm myself as much as I could. I needed to calm myself; I didn’t want to hurt my baby. After a while, she spoke again.

“What do you think his thought process is?” she asked.

“I don’t know, and I’m scared. I don’t know how to live without him. He has become my world in this short time. I hate that I am dependent on him, but he has made it so, and now he’s going to leave me.” I rambled.

“How are you sure that he’s going to leave you?” she asked.

“But I can feel it. It feels as if he hates me for getting pregnant.”

“I need you to understand that it’s not your fault that you got pregnant. Both of you are adults; if he didnt want to get you pregnant, he would have used a condom and made necessary decisions. He’s just being an immature prick now.”

“Do you think I should abort the baby? It’ll make him happy and I-”

“Alexis, don’t do that. Don’t go against your belief because of a man.” Eloise said strongly.

“But he loves me, and I love him too. And this could be a sacrifice that I have to make.” I said. Trying to come up with several things in my head that made sense.

“Lex, you’re not the only one who has to make a sacrifice; he could also make a sacrifice and compromise. In fact, he’s the one who has to make this compromise first, he has to.”

“But his trauma is so bad,” I said.
