Lyra asked. She was testing me; I knew that this wasn’t just her asking me. Of course, I had the power; if I wanted to force them to do this, I could, and there was nothing that would stop me, but I wasn’t going to act that way. I’m not wicked, I’m just someone thats trying to make things better.
“Then thats your choice,” I said, waiting a beat before I continued: “Sweetheart, I’m not going to force you. I’m trying to pull you out of that system because it’s unfair. It’s unfair to you, Lyra.” I pointed at her. “To you, Kieran,” I pointed at him: “And to you, Riven. You guys are exceptional. I remember when you guys came up, I was happy to go to your concerts.” I said, remembering the good old days when I had nothing to worry about, before I was kidnapped.
“You guys were formidable. You still are, but you have to tap into the boss spirit inside of you. You should not be caged anywhere; you should have the power to choose what you want, where you want to go, and who you want to perform for. And that’s what I’m trying to give you. I’m trying to throw a lifeline here for you to take.” I said.
“I’m not forcing anything down your throat. I don’t give up. If you refuse to join me today, there are other ways to get what I want. But I care about you guys, and I know there are plenty of others like you I don’t know, and I need your help to reach out to them. need your help to be able to give them the lifeline that I’m giving you, because they are familiar with you guys.” I said.
“So the choice is up to you,” I said finally. I wasn’t going to do too much; if they didn’t want this opportunity, they could leave. This wasn’t a do–or–die regime.
“Just look at all of you. Do you know the power you emanate? You walked into this room earlier, and I felt goosebumps.” Lex said. “The Moon Goddess had given you this power; she has given you the power to be able to make people feel better and do extraordinary things. I don’t believe that you should limit yourselves, and you owe it to yourselves to do better.” She said and
smiled.
“I don’t have much to say; the Queen and Alexis already said their piece. So you guys can pick from where you want.” Zara said. She wasn’t one to talk too much, though, so I wasn’t surprised.
“Why did you leave the company?” Lyra directed the question at Zara. She looked at me for confirmation, and I nodded, giving her the go–ahead to share her story if that was what would convince them.
“Because I heard that you and Antoine are an item,” Kieran added.
“Yes, that is true. But I’m not a slave. I was deeply in love with Antoine; although we were not mates, I still loved him. But then t noticed some dirty behavior from him. He would do certain things: give Summer the upper hand when she shouldn’t have it, turn other talented people into enslaved people for Summer. I didnt appreciate that at all, which is why I left. I can’t be in that type of organization.” She explained.
We both knew that wasn’t all, but, as I said, Zara didnt exactly talk much, so that was all they would hear from her.
I stared at the three of them; they were all thinking loudly. The poker expressions they once had were no longer intact. I could tell that they didn’t like the position they were in at the company and wanted more from life, and I was ready to give them that
“So…. It’s not going to be that easy.” Riven said quietly, I could tell that he was the quiet one
“Why? Let me know everything that went down so I can help you. But first, are you guys willing to join us? If you are, definitely, we can work on anything together.” Isaid.

They paused for a moment, and then I watched something weird happen. They all looked at each other, and you could fell that

they were communicating in their heads.
“Yes, we will,” Lyra spoke out for them. I frowned. What a weird encounter. I’ll ask them about it later:
“Thats amazing. Now, what exactly is the problem?” I asked them.
“So, we are in debt.” She said, looking down as if she was ashamed by the mere mention of it.
“Look up, kitten,” Riven said, and she immediately did.
1 frowned again, weird.
“Debt You borrowed money from Antoine?” I asked.
“No, it’s not like that. So when we were young, we were performing as usual. And then we traveled to other packs to perform, only to return and be stopped by security. Apparently, we had hard rugs in our luggage, and I swear, we didn’t. We don’t do hard drugs.” Lyra said with tears in her eyes.
“Don’t cry, cub,” Kieran said and held her hand under the table.
“I believe you,” I said.
“You do?” She asked, wide–eyed.
“Of course I do. Tell me more.”
