Chapter 127
Julia’s POV
My heart raced as I followed Matthew down the hallway of the faculty housing building. Despite trying to appear casual, Kaia was
practically bouncing with excitement beneath my skin. There was
something thrilling–almost forbidden–about being in the teachers‘
dormitory with him, even though we’d started seeing each other
before he accepted the teaching position.
“You’re quiet,” Matthew remarked, glancing back at me with that half-
smile that made my stomach flutter.
I shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. “Just feels weird being here.
Like I’m breaking some rule.”
He chuckled.
We reached his apartment at the end of the hall. Matthew unlocked
the door and gestured for me to enter first. The space was
surprisingly large for faculty housing–a decent–sized living area
connected to an open kitchen, with what looked like a bedroom and bathroom down a short hallway. Everything was impeccably clean and organized, with minimal decoration but enough personal touches to
make it feel lived–in.

A bookshelf stood against one wall, already filled with medical textbooks and research journals. A framed photo of what appeared to be his parents sat on a side table. The space smelled strongly of him- that forest–after–rain scent that made Kaia whine with pleasure.
“It’s nice,” I said, setting my purse down on the kitchen counter.
“Very… professorial.”
Matthew smiled as he placed his laptop bag on the dining table. “Is
that a compliment or an insult?”
“Observation.” I ran my fingers along the edge of the counter. “How
long have you been here?”
“Just moved in this morning.” He shrugged off his jacket and draped it
over a chair. “Still getting settled.”
I watched him move around the space with easy confidence, my nerves building with each passing second. When he started walking toward me, I felt my breath catch. Instinctively, I closed my eyes, my heart hammering against my ribs as I waited for his kiss.
But instead of his lips on mine, I heard the scrape of a chair being pulled out. My eyes flew open to find Matthew already seated at the table, opening his laptop with focused determination.

“The footage from today isn’t extensive,” he said, his tone suddenly
professional as he typed something into his computer. “I thought we
could start with this section here, where the patient presents with-”
I stared at him, momentarily confused. Was he serious? After all our
texting and flirting this week, was he actually planning to just…
study?
A small smile played at the corner of his mouth, barely noticeable to
anyone who wasn’t looking for it. That’s when I realized–he was
messing with me. Playing the serious professor.
Two could play at that game.
I gathered my courage and crossed the room, watching his eyes track
my movement. Without hesitation, I slid onto his lap, straddling him
in the chair. His eyebrows shot up, but those eyes instantly darkened.
“I was thinking,” I said, adjusting my position and feeling a rush of
satisfaction when I felt his body’s immediate response beneath me,
“that I’d like to learn something else first, Professor Collins.”
I shifted my hips slightly, the friction causing both of us to inhale
sharply. A smile spread across my face when I felt how hard he
already was. “How long were you planning to keep up this act?”

Instead of answering, Matthew’s hands gripped my waist, pulling me
closer as his mouth finally claimed mine. The kiss was hungry, almost
desperate, as if he’d been holding himself back since the moment I
walked through the door.
“Too long,” he muttered against my lips, his voice rough. One hand
tangled in my hair while the other slipped under my shirt, his warm
palm sliding up my back.
My wolf howled with approval as I pressed closer, letting my fingers
explore the solid muscles of his shoulders and chest. There was something intoxicating about being with him like this–the forbidden thrill of sitting in a professor’s lap combined with the rightness I felt
being in Matthew’s arms.
Without warning, Matthew stood, lifting me with him in one fluid
motion that showcased his werewolf strength. He carried me to the
edge of the bed before laying me down, his body covering mine as he
pressed me into the mattress.
“I’ve been thinking about this all day,” he confessed, trailing kisses
down my neck. The slight scrape of his teeth against my pulse point
sent shivers racing through me.
“Me too,” I gasped, tilting my head to give him better access. “I
couldn’t focus on anything else.”

His hands roamed more boldly now, exploring curves and dips with
increasing urgency. My own fingers fumbled with the buttons of his
shirt, desperate to feel his skin against mine. When I finally
succeeded, I traced the defined muscles of his chest, marveling at
how perfectly we fit together.
Matthew’s mouth traveled down my neck, teeth grazing my collarbone as he pushed my shirt up. I lifted my arms, helping him remove it before reaching behind to unclasp my bra. His eyes darkened at the sight of my bare skin, a low growl rumbling in his
chest.
“God, Julia,” he breathed, hands cupping my breasts, thumbs circling my nipples until I gasped. “You’re perfect.”
I reached for his belt, fumbling with the buckle as he continued his exploration of my body. His mouth replaced his hands, tongue and teeth teasing sensitive flesh until I was squirming beneath him. When I finally got his pants undone, I pushed them down his hips along with his boxers, wrapping my fingers around him.
Matthew hissed at my touch, his hips jerking forward instinctively. “I need you,” he said, voice strained as he worked at the button of my
jeans. “Now.”
