He never once believed that Leander could possibly be the high–and–mighty chairman of Jeff Enterprises–the man who stood above countless corporate giants and underworld kingpins.

Others might not know about Jeff Enterprises‘ background, but as one of Ravenridge’s wealthiest men, Linden was well aware. Jeff Enterprises had been founded by heavyweights like Frankie, Gumus, and Tommy. The chairman was none other than the elusive “Mr. Ashcroft,” who held sway over every major underworld faction in Mornwick.

Suddenly, a realization dawned on him. Leander’s last name was Ashcroft. He shared the same last name as Mr. Ashcroft. Could it be that… they were the same person all along?

Back then, Leander had looked no different from a beggar. His clothes were in tatters, and he looked disheveled and dirty, like some stray boy from the streets.

She had given him ten thousand dollars in gratitude, and he’d vowed to repay her tenfold one day. At the time, she hadn’t thought much of it.

When Leander showed up at her home nearly a year ago, she had been happy to see him- especially when he actually returned a full hundred thousand, just as he promised. Even so, she had never once connected him to the kind of powerful figures who held significant influence.

And now, the chief operating officer of Jeff Enterprises‘ Grove branch actually claimed that Leander was the chairman of Jeff Enterprises?

Leander stepped in front of Yvette, his expression calm and indifferent. He glanced sideways at the Walsh family’s bodyguards surrounding him, as if they were nothing more than ants.

None of the guests present had anticipated such a dramatic reversal. Clad in casual clothes, Leander looked entirely unremarkable. No one would have guessed that this average–looking young man was the chairman of Jeff Enterprises.

Several onlookers glanced at one another, their eyes gleaming with amusement. They were clearly entertained by the turn of events. Just moments ago, they’d all thought that Leander’s bold intrusion into the Walsh residence would end with him being crushed. But now that his identity as the chairman had been revealed, the power dynamic between the two sides had suddenly evened out.

And yet, among the crowd, a few keen–eyed individuals narrowed their eyes slightly and gave a faint shake of their heads.

The Walsh family had stood strong in Listin for over a century. Their web of influence and power ran so deep that it was unfathomable. Even a state ruler couldn’t be guaranteed their respect. The title of Jeff Enterprises‘ chairman alone wasn’t enough to intimidate the Walshes.

Just as Samuel and Arthur hesitated, their father, Ryan Walsh, suddenly stood up and said loudly, “So what if he’s the chairman of Jeff Enterprises?”

He let out a cold snort, his gaze sharp. “He injured my grandson right in the middle of his own wedding banquet. We all saw it with our own eyes. So just because he’s Jeff Enterprises‘ chairman, he can act like a tyrant and hurt people as he pleases?”

As soon as he finished, the expressions of many onlookers shifted in unease. Even Caleb, the revered underworld boss of Grove, narrowed his eyes.

Ryan had endured decades of turbulence. Now well into his seventies, he had experienced more than most could imagine. A scene like this was far from enough to make him back down.

More importantly, Alfie was the only male heir of the Walsh family’s third generation–their hope for the future. Ryan had always doted on him immensely. After seeing Alfie seriously injured by Leander right in their own main hall, there was no way he would let it slide easily.

As soon as he finished, he waved his hand. “I don’t care who he is. Arrest him and take him to the police station. Let the judge handle the rest!”

As his voice fell, the Walsh family’s bodyguards stepped forward, their eyes flashing with hostility. They pressed on even with Caleb standing in front of them, fully intending to bring Leander down.

“B*stards! With me here, I’d like to see who dares lay a hand on Mr. Ashcroft!”

Caleb bellowed angrily, and the bodyguards he brought with him all rushed in to block the Walsh bodyguards. The two sides immediately locked into a tense standoff.

Seeing this, Ryan let out a cold laugh, radiating the pressure of someone used to being in a position of authority.

“Caleb, do you truly believe being Grove’s underworld boss means you have what it takes to challenge the Walsh family?”

“With a single word from me, your so–called rising status in Grove will go up in smoke. Every last bit of power and influence under your name will be wiped out. Try me if you dare.”

Caleb frowned deeply at those words. Ryan was right–he only dared to go against the Walsh family now with Leander’s backing. If it weren’t for Leander, he wouldn’t have had the guts to challenge them at all.

As the reigning figure of the underworld, Caleb might’ve seemed powerful, but everything he controlled operated in the shadows. He lived in the grey areas, while the Walsh family had their hands in both the legal and illegal worlds with equal ease. They simply weren’t in the same league.

If the Walsh family truly wanted to take him down, all it would take was a single word from them. Once the government stepped in, even ten of him couldn’t hold them off.

Just as he hesitated, Leander suddenly stepped forward and patted him on the shoulder.

“Take your men and step aside.”

Leander stood beside him, expression calm and unshaken.

“I’ll handle this myself. You don’t need to concern yourself.”

With that in mind, Caleb gave a nod and waved for his men to step back.

“Mr. Ashcroft, just tell me if you need anything.”

His people soon moved to the side, forming a line of support for Leander. Caleb himself was eager to see how Leander planned to deal with the formidable Walsh family.

As Caleb’s men stepped back, the Walsh bodyguards charged in all at once, ready to subdue Leander. But right then, Leander suddenly took a step forward.

His foot landed squarely in the middle of the Walsh residence’s grand hall. Instantly, the entire room trembled. The floor shuddered, and dozens of bodyguards were thrown onto their backs. They groaned in pain, unable to get back up.

“What… what just happened?”

Everyone looked on in shock, completely baffled. Even Ryan and his two sons exchanged looks, visibly stunned.

Leander stepped forward again, his eyes sweeping across the room.

“I came to the Walsh residence today to take her with me–and to demand justice from the Walsh family!”

“If anyone wants to stand with them, come on out. I’ll deal with all of you at once. Even if every power in the world comes at me today, I’ll stand alone and face them all!”

“Anyone who wants to help the Feng family, please step forward. I will take care of it all. Today, no matter how powerful they are, I will stand alone against them!”
