It was already past 1 a.m. by the time Leander returned to his modest apartment in Ravenridge. Madeline had finished her shift at the bar and was already fast asleep. He moved quietly to enter his room and took out the pouch of shimmering seeds from his jacket.
He placed them on his bedside table and pulled out the jade pendant he’d gotten from Raymond. The pendant wasn’t just any jade. It was a rare and one–of–a–kind Exquisite Emerald Jade.
This type of jade was priceless and nearly impossible to acquire due to its rarity. It stood as one of the finest jade treasures and was exceptionally difficult to unearth.
It lay hidden deep underground, nurtured by vast jade deposits. A raw stone the size of half a room might have produced a fragment no larger than a thumb. Such a gem was indeed exceptionally rare in this world.
The jade held a pure energy that embodied nature’s essence and promoted vitality and well- being, which Leander needed.
Leander crushed the pendant to powder with a single grip. A visible light blue droplet oozed out from it. After that, he spread his fingers slightly and summoned a brilliant flame that surged from his palm as he swallowed the droplet.
The droplet melted instantly into a gentle flow, which he then spread over the translucent seeds. In an instant, the hundreds of seeds radiated with vibrant life and became even more
robust.
Leander nodded as he looked at the plump seeds. Looks like it’s time to plant these.
Early the next morning, he had breakfast ready by the time Madeline woke up. Her face lit up when she saw him.
“Leander, you’re back from Crestgate?” she asked with excitement.
Leander had mentioned to her the previous day that he’d be heading there.
“Yeah, let’s eat. We’ve got to head to school,” he replied with a smile and handed her a glass of milk.
Madeline asked Leander what he had gone to Crestgate for as they ate. He gave her a vague excuse to avoid the real reason.
Later, they arrived at class together. Leander shot off a quick text to Frankie and asked him to set up a plot of land in Tardide Valley for planting.

Frankie responded promptly and promised to take care of it immediately.

Leander couldn’t help but think of the dreams that she had shared with him as he glanced at Madeline in the front row.
He sighed inwardly. I need to help her reach her goal before I can head to Tardide Valley and plant the Silverleaf.
His mind raced and already pieced together how he could pave the way for her future. Liam nudged him with a mischievous grin just as he lost himself in thought.
“Leander, we’re having a class dinner tonight, and I’ve got someone special lined up to introduce you to.”
Leander frowned. “Class dinner? Why haven’t I heard about it?”
Liam chuckled. “It’s been a tradition since we were freshmen. We get together every last weekend of the month. You’re still new, so you wouldn’t know.”
Leander shrugged. “Who are you introducing me to?”
Liam’s grin widened. “My junior high crush. She agreed to come tonight and join us. Dude, she might not be on the same level as Yvette or Madeline, but she’s definitely one of the prettiest girls around. I’m planning to make her mine after tonight!”
Leander couldn’t help but laugh at Liam’s excitement. “You’re that confident, huh?”
Liam puffed out his chest, brimming with confidence. “Of course! I hang out with you, and you’re practically the king of knowing beautiful girls. I can’t fall too far behind!”
Leander chuckled and shook his head. “Alright, stop joking around. I’m not a gang leader. What do you think you’re doing with me? Just bring her over tonight first.”
The rest of the school day passed in its usual monotony. Leander was shaken awake by Madeline by the time class ended.
“Come on, Leander. It’s time for the class dinner. Let’s go.”
The scene ignited anger among the boys in the class, especially Victor, whose fists clenched in fury. The impression Leander had left on him during their last encounter in the combat club lingered. He still had no chance to reclaim his pride.
Jade Dempsey noticed Victor’s frustration and hurried over to comfort him. “Victor, don’t let him get to you. He may have some knowledge about fighting, but that’s all he’s got. Madeline even paid for him to attend tonight’s dinner. You and Leander will be worlds apart once graduation’s over. He’ll never be able to catch up to you.”

Victor’s expression remained cold. He knew she was right. After all, he’d be heading to one of the top universities in Astria with his grades. He’d be far ahead of Leander after graduating and taking over his father’s business, but the thought of losing to him at school gnawed at his pride.
The class dinner was held at Cascade House, which was a well–known restaurant near the Ravenridge Convention Center. Jade, who had arranged the dinner, had reserved two large private rooms, which were enough to comfortably seat fifty people.
As soon as Madeline and Leander walked in, a group of girls immediately surrounded Madeline. However, he wasn’t one for attention, so he found a seat in the corner.
He would’ve skipped this gathering altogether if it weren’t for Madeline and Liam insisting on his attendance.
Liam took the seat beside him, and the two of them chatted for a while before Liam’s phone
rang.
“Hello, Shirley. Have you arrived? I’ll be right down to get you!” he said, practically bouncing with excitement.
Liam turned to Leander after hanging up and was barely able to contain his glee. “She’s here, Leander. I’m going to go get her!”
He bolted out of the room with that. A few minutes later, he returned with a girl by his side.
The girl was tall and slender. She wore fashionable clothes and exuded a charming vibe. She was certainly more attractive than Jade but not as stunning as Madeline. This made her a rare beauty.
The classmates let out a playful cheer as soon as she entered. Liam was clearly proud and introduced her with a grin. “Everyone, this is my junior high deskmate, Shirley Wright!”
Shirley greeted the group with a polite wave.
“Welcome!”
Beautiful girls were always welcomed, so the classmates greeted her with smiles. After the introductions, Liam invited Shirley to sit next to Leander.
“Shirley, let me introduce you to my good friend Leander!”
Liam spread his hands and pointed at Leander. He had already told Shirley on the way here that he would introduce a very impressive friend to her today.
Shirley’s gaze shifted toward Leander. He smiled and nodded to acknowledge her. She responded politely while discreetly observing him.

She momentarily paused when she saw Leander’s handsome face. However, a hint of disappointment crossed her expression as she noticed his casual and simple attire.
