Yvette stood in the doorway of the living room, her gaze cold and aloof. When Leander stepped out, her eyes flicked up slightly. Memories of last night surfaced in her mind. Leander had taken control of the stage, commanding everyone’s attention with his brilliance. She felt strangely conflicted.
She could not make sense of her emotions. To her, Leander had always seemed far from exceptional, certainly not on her level. They were in different worlds, completely apart.
In Yvette’s mind, the most outstanding young man of their generation was Colin. He was near perfect, not just a business elite, but also talented in many areas. Originally, her duet with Colin had been the highlight of the night. Then, Leander unexpectedly took the stage, performed “Innocent Dreamer” on the piano, and instantly stole the show. At that moment, even Yvette had to admit that Leander’s brilliance outshone everything, even reducing Colin to a supporting role.
Leander glanced at her but did not speak. Yvette hesitated for a long time before finally opening her mouth.
“Leander, remember to bring your swim trunks. There is a hot spring there.”
“No need, I am not going in.”
Leander casually responded. His indifferent attitude caused Yvette to sigh in frustration and confusion.
Although she never thought of herself as extraordinary, she had been the campus queen, admired by many. Yet, in front of Leander, she felt all her charm and strength completely vanish. It was as if she were invisible.
Though frustrated, she kept her cold, distant demeanor and said no more.
“Yvette, Leander, let’s go!”
Madeline grabbed Yvette’s hand with one of hers and Leander’s with the other, bouncing excitedly as she led them toward the door.
Last night, she had signed a dreamlike contract with Glorious Entertainment. Today, she was heading off on a trip and was in particularly high spirits. After this trip, she planned to fully dedicate herself to her dream of becoming a singer.
The three of them went downstairs, where a Mercedes–Benz S–Class was parked. Although it was not the most luxurious car, it was still a luxury vehicle worth millions. Colin stood by the car, waiting.

When his eyes fell on Leander, a shadow briefly crossed his face, but he forced a smile.

“Leander, I had no idea you had such talent in singing and piano. Last night was truly an eye- opener!”
Seeing Colin’s forced smile, Leander did not bother to respond and simply smiled.
Colin inwardly sneered, but he held back from showing any hostility toward Leander in front of Yvette. Instead, he continued.
“Let’s get in the car. Ginny has already gone ahead with Miss Little. They are waiting for us at the highway exit to Ascendia.”
Yvette nodded and took the front passenger seat while Leander and Madeline sat in the back.
Once they were in the car, Leander focused on his phone, occasionally chatting with Madeline while completely ignoring the two people in front.
Through the rearview mirror, Colin glanced at Leander’s calm expression and inwardly sneered.
Leander, you may have won last night.
Once we reach Ascendia, I will show you the vast difference in our status!
After more than two hours of driving, the group arrived at the highway exit to Ascendia where a pink, fully equipped Porsche was parked. There were only two people in the car. Ginny was in the passenger seat, while the driver was a woman in a red dress.
The woman looked to be around twenty–three or twenty–four years old. She had a mature, intellectual air about her, with long legs on display and refined features. She exuded a lazy, seductive charm, making her a rare beauty.
“Colin, why are you so late? We have been waiting for half an hour.”
The woman gave Colin a slight smile of dissatisfaction.
“Miss Little, I apologize. There was traffic, which caused the delay.”
Colin smiled apologetically at the woman, his tone respectful, showing clear deference.
Yvette and Madeline got out of the car and politely greeted her.
“Miss Little!”

The woman nodded and smiled at them before her gaze shifted to Leander, who stood by without reacting. She frowned.
“Who is this?”
She had never seen Leander before.
“Miss Little, this is Leander. He is like a brother to me.”
Madeline quickly introduced him.
“Leander, this is Autumn Little.”
“Hello.”
Leander responded without addressing her as “Miss Little,” unlike the others. He simply nodded, his manner casual.
“Leander?”
Autumn raised her eyebrows. She had never heard of his name in Ravenridge’s elite circles. Then, she remembered what Colin had said yesterday. He would be bringing an outsider along. Leander had to be that outsider.
Autumn’s expression cooled. She was one of the top figures in Ravenridge’s high society. By aligning herself with Frankie, she had gained powerful support. Even someone like Colin treated her with great respect.
However, this outsider, someone not even qualified to be in their circle, had dared not to call her “Miss Little.” He clearly did not know his place.
“Let’s go. I just spoke with Mr. Mardin. He has already arranged our rooms, so we can enjoy ourselves without worry.
“Water Paradise is the largest water park in Mornwick. It cost over eighty million to build. With Mr. Mardin overseeing it, you can all expect a royal experience from start to finish.”
Yvette, Ginny, and Madeline were clearly excited. They had dreamed of visiting this luxurious resort for a long time.
“Haha! With you handling everything, how could we not feel at ease?”
Colin flattered Autumn before following the red Porsche as they headed toward Water Paradise.
Water Paradise was located on the eastern side of Ascendia. Twenty minutes later, both cars pulled into the parking lot, where a group of people was already waiting near the entrance.

Leading the group was a sharp–looking young man who appeared to be around twenty–four or twenty–five years old. Though young, he carried a mature and seasoned air, clearly marking him as someone of significance.
Behind him stood several well–dressed individuals. It was obvious they were from influential families, part of the upper class. Yet, they all stood behind the sharp young man, showing their deference.
As Autumn led Leander and the others toward the group, Colin suddenly asked, “Miss Little, I heard Water Paradise was built under the direction of Ascendia’s Gumus Mardin?”
Upon hearing this, Yvette, Ginny, and Madeline turned their attention to Autumn.
They knew who Gumus was. He was the true ruler of Ascendia, as powerful there as Frankie was in Ravenridge.
It was rumored that Gumus was ruthless, violent, and merciless. He had taken dozens of lives, making him a man to be feared. Even Colin and his peers would not dare challenge him.
“Yes, that is correct.”
Autumn nodded and looked ahead at the group waiting for them.
“Just so you know, the young man at the front is Zayn Mardin.”
“He is Gumus‘ youngest son and manages all of Water Paradise.”
Upon hearing this, the looks on everyone’s faces changed.
