Chloe Sinclair hadn’t expected the after-effects to be this miserable on the first day.
Just after returning to her hospital room, her nose started bleeding again.
It made the doctor, who had been so confident just a moment ago, wonder if the equipment had malfunctioned.
Chloe Sinclair tilted her head back, staring at the pristine white ceiling, feeling like she wanted to cry but couldn’t.
Fortunately, it didn’t last long this time. Otherwise, Chloe Sinclair would have been convinced she was going to bleed to death.
"Professor, Senior, how are you both?"
After her nosebleed stopped, Chloe Sinclair looked at the two of them.
Although she had Eight’s verbal assurance, nothing was more reassuring than hearing it from them directly.
Seeing Chloe Sinclair in this state, both Joel Quincy and Nathan Trenton felt a mix of warmth and heartache.
Joel Quincy glanced at his senior disciple, nudging Nathan Trenton to speak.
"The Professor and I are fine. All our vitals are normal."
Nathan Trenton tucked in the corner of Chloe Sinclair’s blanket. "We notified your second brother."
Chloe Sinclair nodded, unsurprised.
The fact that Gabriel Sinclair could come meant her family already knew what had happened.
"Have Dad and my big brother gotten the news?"
"I don’t think so. I only notified your second brother."
Nathan Trenton raised an eyebrow. "What, are you afraid of your father and your brother finding out?"
"Yeah, I’m afraid they’ll worry."
Hearing this, Joel Quincy, who was standing to the side, flared up and said sarcastically, "So you *do* know how to be scared. You seemed pretty heroic when you were climbing over the railing to turn that valve."
Chloe Sinclair was speechless and could only look pleadingly at Nathan Trenton.
But to her surprise, after meeting her gaze for a brief moment, her senior looked away.
Upon hearing this result, a huge weight was finally lifted from their shoulders.
Compared to the others, Chloe Sinclair was much more relaxed.
’After all, the system had already checked her condition. Aside from the after-effects caused by the incomplete filtering, her body was even healthier than an ordinary person’s.’
Chloe Sinclair was kept in the hospital for a full seven days of observation before being discharged.
Even so, her brothers were still a little worried, so they moved directly into Chloe Sinclair’s apartment.
Chloe Sinclair’s apartment wasn’t large, but it was big enough to accommodate two grown men.
But with the two brothers moved in, the apartment felt noticeably more cramped.
"Oh, right, Chloe. I already told Dad and our big brother about what happened. They should be arriving this afternoon."
PFFT!
Chloe Sinclair, who had been drinking milk, was so startled by what her second brother had just said that she spat it out.
