"A month and a half ago, you probably heard about that transnational criminal syndicate that was jailed for robbery. These guys are the remnants of that group."
If we hand them over to the police directly, given how cunning they are, their past crimes would never be uncovered. If I were to press charges, they’d probably only get a few years and then get out.
And what happens after they get out?
Won’t they just go back to doing whatever they want?
Shawn Styles looked into Chloe Sinclair’s ink-black eyes. Though the young woman’s tone was perfectly calm, a chill still ran down Shawn’s spine.
He didn’t know who these men were, only that it was far too dangerous for Chloe Sinclair to face these robbers alone.
"Wouldn’t it be better if the police came?"
Chloe Sinclair shook her head but didn’t say anything this time.
Seeing this, Shawn Styles didn’t press the matter. He murmured, "What’s your plan?"
"A dark and windy night."
After she spoke, Chloe Sinclair suddenly walked over to the circuit breaker and yanked the switch down.
In an instant, the surroundings were plunged into darkness.
Shawn Styles’s vision went black. He clenched his fists and couldn’t help but ask, "What are you doing?"
’Chloe Sinclair is being way too impulsive!’
’Turning off the lights... isn’t that just giving the criminals an opportunity?’
It was pitch-black all around. Shawn Styles couldn’t see a thing.
He turned on his phone’s flashlight, but Chloe Sinclair stopped him. Gripping Shawn’s wrist, she gave a nearly imperceptible shake of her head.
In the faint glow of his phone screen, Shawn Styles could just about make out Chloe Sinclair’s movement.
The next moment, he turned off his phone and gestured, as if asking Chloe Sinclair what to do next.
Then he remembered that there was no way she could see him in the dark.
However, Chloe Sinclair saw everything perfectly clearly.
