’This is outrageous!’
When they reached the entrance of the police station, Jasper Shaw helped Chloe Sinclair with her hat and said earnestly, "Pull the brim down a little. Don’t want you getting cold."
Jasper Shaw pushed Chloe Sinclair’s bangs back, revealing her smooth, clear forehead.
The next moment, he pulled the hat down, tugging it right to her eyebrows. It didn’t block her vision, but Chloe Sinclair still found it a little uncomfortable.
She adjusted the hat herself and suddenly asked, "Can I go to the office with you today?"
Jasper Shaw froze for a moment, a surge of joy welling up in his chest.
But when he remembered he had to work late, he reluctantly refused.
"I’m working overtime tonight. I’m not going back to the villa."
But Chloe Sinclair shook her head. "That’s fine, I need to organize my notes anyway. I’ll keep you company."
Jasper Shaw, thinking that the day’s events had upset her, nodded in agreement. "Alright, let’s go to the supermarket first."
It was already getting late.
However, the commercial street was still brightly lit. Warm, yellow lights cast shadows across the pavement, and the sidewalks were bustling with people.
The two got in the car and drove straight to the office.
As they pulled up to the building, Chloe Sinclair saw that the lights were on in every room of the towering high-rise.
Jasper Shaw explained, "I gave them a month off."
Chloe Sinclair understood immediately.
’Most white-collar workers are lucky to get half a month off for the New Year. Jasper Shaw gave them a full month, so of course they’d have to work overtime to get everything done beforehand.’
With this in mind, Chloe Sinclair looked at Ian Winters, who was walking behind them. "Assistant Winters, could you please go and order coffee for the entire company and have it distributed?"
Ian Winters nodded quickly and turned to head downstairs.
But he hadn’t taken more than two steps before Jasper Shaw called out to him.
Jasper Shaw said, "While you’re at it, order set meals from the restaurant downstairs. Put it on my account."
