Jasper Shaw was standing a bit far away, so he could only see the girl’s mouth opening and closing, vaguely catching a few words.
He thought the girl was asking him to sleep in the bed with her.
Even Jasper, who had been through countless major events, couldn’t help but blush. He stammered, "Th-that might not be a good idea."
’The girl is even more forward than I imagined.’
Chloe Sinclair, however, was taken aback, not understanding why Jasper suddenly had such an expression.
Finally, as if she’d realized something, Chloe’s expression changed. After muttering "idiot" under her breath, she pulled the covers over herself and went to sleep.
Jasper Shaw: "..."
Although he didn’t understand why the girl was suddenly ignoring him, he still walked over, tucked in the corners of her blanket, and then turned on a lamp.
"The lounge is dark. I’ll leave a light on for you."
The lounge didn’t contain much, nor was it very big. Aside from a large bed, there was only a stand and a standing lamp.
The lamp cast a warm, yellow glow, and before long, Chloe started to feel drowsy.
After seeing that Chloe had fallen asleep, Jasper quietly exited the lounge and closed the door.
He made himself a cup of coffee and returned to his desk.
He started a video conference.
At eight in the morning, Jasper walked into the lounge’s bathroom, carrying a change of clothes that Ian Winters had delivered.
The bathroom had a frosted glass door. With the light on inside, only a faint silhouette was visible.
Chloe woke to the sound of running water. When she opened her eyes, she saw Jasper pushing the bathroom door open and stepping out, a bath towel wrapped around his lower body.
Her mouth instantly formed a shocked ’O’.
The man’s hair was soaking wet. The hair at his forehead was plastered to his scalp, with a few strands sticking out. Tiny droplets of water dripped continuously to the floor, while others trickled from his face down to his abs.
Chloe Sinclair: "Can I touch your abs?"
The moment she said it, Chloe herself was stunned.
Jasper, however, was only stunned for a moment before he slowly walked over to her.
"Go ahead."
