No one should be visiting at this hour.
Since someone was at the door, however, Chloe Sinclair naturally went to see who it was.
"You wait here. I’ll get the door."
With that, Chloe Sinclair walked over.
The doorbell outside rang nonstop, with a frantic urgency.
Chloe Sinclair was annoyed and didn’t rush to open the door.
"Who is it?"
After a few seconds, the doorbell stopped.
But no one answered.
When Chloe Sinclair didn’t open the door, the frantic ringing started up again.
Thoroughly annoyed, Chloe Sinclair threw open the door.
Standing at the door were none other than Yvonne White and Nina Sinclair.
Nina Sinclair, however, looked guilty and kept hiding behind Yvonne White.
"What are you looking at? I’ve been ringing this doorbell for ages, why didn’t you open up?"
Chloe Sinclair chose to remain silent in the face of Yvonne White’s tirade.
Seeing this, Yvonne White grew even angrier.
"Where’s your dad?"
With that, she slipped on a pair of house slippers and stormed into the living room.
Jasper Shaw heard the commotion and stood up.
Just in time to see the old woman shoving Chloe Sinclair.
Seeing the familiar face, Jasper Shaw remembered.
This old woman was Chloe Sinclair’s maternal grandmother, Yvonne White.
The information he had indicated that Yvonne White didn’t seem to like Chloe Sinclair.
Jasper Shaw’s eyes narrowed. A dangerous glint flickered in their dark depths.
Yvonne White hadn’t noticed Jasper Shaw. She just felt that Chloe Sinclair was in her way. After shoving her aside, she turned back and declared, "I’m going to expose you today, you little brat! I can’t let you keep up this charade any longer!"
Chloe Sinclair was at a loss.
’What is this now?’
Mr. Sinclair looked at Yvonne White and retorted, "The real question is whether *you* have wronged her."
At his words, Yvonne White’s face turned deathly pale, as if a memory had struck her.
"I..."
However, Mr. Sinclair gave her no quarter. "Celebrate the New Year with us today," he said, "and then go home."
"As for Nina Sinclair..."
Mr. Sinclair’s gaze fell on Nina Sinclair, who was cowering like a frightened quail behind Yvonne White, her eyes avoiding his. His expression was grim.
"Get out."
Yvonne White immediately grew frantic.
"Quentin Sinclair, I came here to talk to you about this shameless little bitch!"
Mr. Sinclair, who had already started to turn away, froze at the old woman’s words.
The air in the room suddenly turned frigid.
Even with the heating on, the old woman shivered.
She immediately shoved Nina Sinclair forward and boomed, "You tell him! Tell him all the dirty things this little bitch has been up to!"
