When Su Chen suddenly spoke, it startled Chen Fei so much that he stumbled and nearly dropped him.
Luckily, Su Chen was agile enough to grab Chen Fei’s arm and steady himself.
Jiang Hui, walking ahead, heard the commotion and quickly turned back. Seeing Su Chen and Chen Fei just staring at each other, he rushed over. "Sir, are you alright?"
"Hm? Why would anything be wrong? I’m perfectly fine!" Su Chen had a vague idea of what had happened. ’It must have been when I was absorbing the memories of those hacking techniques. They probably couldn’t wake me and thought something was wrong!’
"As long as you’re alright, as long as you’re alright!" A weight was lifted from Jiang Hui’s heart.
Not wanting to dwell on the topic, Su Chen patted Chen Fei’s shoulder and said, "Tell Aunt Tang to make some extra food. I’m starving!"
"Yes, Sir!" Upon hearing this, Chen Fei put the incident out of his mind and hurried toward the front courtyard.
Jiang Hui also turned to leave, planning to prepare some drinks and a fruit platter for Su Chen to tide him over.
Once the two had left, Su Chen sat on the sofa, processing the hacking skills he had just acquired. According to the system’s description... his skills could dominate any world-class hacker, giving him the sudden urge to put them to the test.
’I should find some time to set up a rec room in the basement, build my own secret base!’
Su Chen was extremely curious about hacking. He remembered back in middle school, not long after QQ first came out, he used to play games at shady internet cafes, and his account would constantly get stolen.
Back then, he would fantasize about having skills that impressive. He could just steal any short-digit QQ account he wanted and show it off in class. How many girls would he have been able to impress with that?
But alas... as he grew older, he had no idea where those fantasies had gone. Perhaps they were just a passing whim.
"Sir, have some fruit and snacks to tide you over first!"
Jiang Hui’s voice broke Su Chen from his reverie. He decided to put his research on hold for now and could slowly look into the system’s other rewards later.
Having expended so much mental energy, on top of not having eaten breakfast, the moment his train of thought was broken, a wave of hunger washed over him.
He grabbed the snacks and fruit and started eating right away.
With a large Dandong strawberry in his left hand and a snack in his right, he ate with pure delight.
Soon, everything Jiang Hui had brought had vanished into Su Chen’s stomach. Standing to the side, Jiang Hui was stunned. "Sir, should I... go get you some more?"
Su Chen calmly wiped his mouth. "No need. That was just to take the edge off. I need to save room for the meal!"
"Yes, Sir!" Jiang Hui thought about the amount of fruit and snacks he’d brought. It was more than enough to be a full meal for one person, yet for Su Chen it was just something to "take the edge off." ’He must be truly famished,’ he concluded.
With that thought, Jiang Hui collected the empty dishes and hurried to the kitchen in the front courtyard. He had to help Aunt Tang get the food ready faster, so Su Chen wouldn’t have to go hungry.
