"What do you mean, ’not a good fit’? You’re a perfect fit!" Arthur said with conviction.
Arthur then began to explain. The gathering he spoke of was no ordinary party. Just as Su Chen had suspected, it was for the scions of top-tier families—filthy rich bigwigs from the "camel families" of the Middle East and the young masters and ladies from the royal and noble houses of Europe.
Their group had been meeting for several years. They gathered for a while around this time every year, looking to network and make deals. To put it bluntly, it was a small-scale trade summit.
A thought struck Su Chen. ’Could it be that Arthur invited me to New York because he wanted me to join this little circle?’
Although Arthur didn’t know the full extent of Su Chen’s background, he was certain of one thing: Su Chen definitely had connections within Huaxia.
’Don’t tell me Arthur has his eyes on the Huaxian market?’ The thought flashed through Su Chen’s mind and grew stronger by the second.
Connecting the dots of Arthur’s recent actions, Su Chen was willing to bet his guess was pretty much on the mark.
’Tsk, tsk. None of these heirs from top financial conglomerates are simple characters.’
Su Chen couldn’t help but marvel at it. He and Arthur had only met two or three times, yet the man had already concocted such schemes. ’Looks like I still have a lot to learn.’
The party he had previously wanted to skip now piqued Su Chen’s interest. He also wanted to see what kind of game Arthur was playing.
He feigned hesitation and said, "Sigh... all right. Since you’ve put it that way, I’ll go with you and check it out."
Su Chen had originally thought they would be driving, but to his surprise, Arthur had arranged for a large, seven-passenger helicopter.
Without giving it much thought, Su Chen brought Raymond and Chen Fei with him onto the helicopter, leaving everyone else at the house.
As the helicopter flew over Manhattan, New York, Su Chen was captivated by the urban scenery below. He could admire the Statue of Liberty standing by the sea and see the various skyscrapers piercing the clouds.
Soon, Su Chen noticed the helicopter was gradually moving away from the bustling New York cityscape and asked curiously, "Arthur, where are we going now?"
"Long Island! There’s a seaside villa there. It’s our special meeting spot!"
Su Chen had learned a bit about New York the previous night. He knew that the Long Island Arthur mentioned was New York’s "backyard," a place where countless American tycoons lived, with many large villas nestled in the forests.
In terms of environment alone, Long Island was arguably the best part of New York.
