"Ugh, those bastards are something else. Just because I made a little extra money, did they really have to get me that wasted!"
Su Chen rubbed his still-groggy head and sat up in bed.
Luckily, all they drank last night was wine. The hangover wasn’t nearly as bad; he didn’t have a headache or any dizziness.
If it had been that hard liquor, given how they were drinking last night, he’d probably still be fast asleep in bed.
After a quick rinse, he changed into some loose loungewear. As soon as he went downstairs, he saw Chen Fei and Jiang Hui sitting on the sofa, chatting.
"Good morning, sir!" Seeing Su Chen, the two of them quickly stood up from the sofa and greeted him respectfully.
"Mm," Su Chen nodded slightly and sat down on his personal long sofa. He looked at Chen Fei and asked, "Didn’t I tell you to go have some fun? What are you doing here?"
"Well, we had our two days of fun. We’re planning to head back to Zheng Island today. We just came by specifically to ask if you have any instructions, sir."
Hearing this, Su Chen couldn’t help but marvel at how earnest Chen Fei and the others were. ’They said they’d take two days off, and they took exactly two days.’
"There’s nothing too important. I’ll transfer the funds for the research park that Xiao Peng mentioned as soon as possible. When you get back, keep a close eye on the experiments’ progress. Call me immediately the moment you have any news."
Su Chen wasn’t entirely sure about the current situation at the park. Professor Wu had called before to request a batch of researchers, and Su Chen figured that with these new additions, the various research projects should be able to achieve major breakthroughs in a short time.
Seeing that Su Chen had no other arrangements for him, Chen Fei didn’t stay long. After all, the rest of the group was still waiting for him outside the residential complex.
After seeing Chen Fei off, Su Chen beckoned to Jiang Hui.
"Sir, are there any arrangements you need me to make?" Jiang Hui hurried to Su Chen’s side and asked.
"Call Emma and Hamis. Have them pick out a watch from one of our companies suitable for a middle-aged man and bring it over." Su Chen paused, then added, "It doesn’t need to be too expensive. Something in the hundreds of thousands will do."
’He’d learned from the family group chat that his dad, Su Zhuyun, was about to turn fifty. He’d been wondering what an appropriate gift would be, and after some thought, a watch seemed like the most fitting choice.’
’His dad already had cars and houses, so getting him another one would be redundant. As for things like jewelry or beaded bracelets, they seemed a bit useless.’
Hearing this, Jiang Hui took his phone out of his pocket and stood to the side, calling Emma and the others one by one.
"Sir, they’ll be delivered in half an hour at most."
"Mm," Su Chen nodded slightly.
