Chapter 115 The Play
Nira’s POV:

Kade leaned back slightly, rubbing his temple as a quiet laugh slipped out, the kind that said he had already seen through me from the start. “So this was your plan all along, huh? You wanted me to push the price up for you, and you even managed to make it sound reasonable.”
I tilted my head, not bothering to deny it.
“Alright,” he continued smoothly, his tone relaxed but deliberate, “since you asked so nicely I’ll play along.”
He flicked a glance toward Jett.
Jett immediately understood and stepped out without drawing attention.
A second later, the auctioneer’s voice rang through the hall, sharp with excitement. “Five hundred thousand! VIP Room Nine has placed a bid of five hundred thousand. Five hundred thousand, going once?”
The number hit the room like a shockwave, and just like that, every other bidder went silent.
The whispers started almost instantly, spreading across the floor like a ripple.
“Half a million for one capsule? That’s insane.”
“Even premium biotech doesn’t go that high without proof.”
“Feels staged. No way that’s real.”
I watched the reaction without speaking, but my gaze drifted back to Kade. I couldn’t quite piece together what he was aiming for, yet I knew better than to assume this was impulsive. He never stepped into something he couldn’t control.
So what exactly was he waiting for?
“Five hundred thousand, going twice!”
“Five hundred thousand, sold!”
The gavel came down cleanly, sealing the deal.

Chapter 115 The Play
Just like that, the first Z1 was gone.

I turned to him, a faint crease forming between my brows, but Kade looked completely at ease, swirling the red wine in his glass as if he were sitting in a lounge instead of the center of a high–stakes auction.
“Hold on a second.”
The interruption came just as the staff prepared to deliver the item to VIP Room Nine, and in the next moment, the room’s shared display flickered to life, revealing the people inside.
A murmur swept through the crowd.
“Wait, that’s Vincent Murphy.”
“The guy behind Northgrove Auction? What is he doing here?”
“This just got interesting.”
I followed their gaze, my eyes settling on the man on the screen.
Vincent Murphy’s voice carried through the sound system, calm but edged with unmistakable provocation. “Good evening. I’m Vincent from Northgrove Auction. I came tonight because I wanted to see for myself whether this ‘ZI‘ lives up to the reputation Crestline has been pushing.”
The implication was obvious, and the mood in the room shifted immediately.
A few voices rose from the audience, no longer bothering to hide their skepticism.
“Yeah, we’ve all heard the claims, but no one’s actually seen it in action.”
“Exactly. Sounds more like marketing than science.”
I glanced at Vincent briefly before looking back at Kade, folding my arms as a faint smile touched my lips. “Looks like someone showed up ready to tear this place apart.”
Kade didn’t react. His expression remained calm, almost indifferent. “I trust your formula.”
