Chapter 144 Walking Away
Janice stumbled backward, fear flashing across her face as Damon moved toward her.
Jenna stepped in immediately, blocking him, then turned on Janice with a furious glare, her vue super and sharp.
“You ungrateful girl. We raised you all these years, and this is how you repay us? If we had known you! turn out like this, we never would’ve brought you into this family”
Damon’s voice followed, cold and threatening. “Watch your tone. If you speak to us like that again, I’ll you expelled from Blazeborn Pack myself.”
Janice let out a quiet laugh, the sound laced with open mockery,
“So now you regret it?” she said, her eyes filled with sarcasm. “That’s a little late, don’t you think?”
Her expression hardened as she continued, her voice
ready but ruthless.
“The Soren family is already falling apart. What authority do you have left to control me? I’m done. You don’t need to throw me out, I’ll leave on my own. From now on, my life has nothing to do with you.”
She turned without hesitation and walked toward the door.
Damon’s entire body shook with anger as he pointed after her, his voice rising again. “Janice, stop right there. If you walk out that door, don’t ever come back.”
She paused, then looked back over her shoulder, her gaze cold and completely detached.
“Then I won’t,” she said flatly. “The Soren family is finished, and it’s only a matter of time before you’re removed as Alpha of Blazeborn Pack.”
Her words landed without hesitation.
“You can’t give me anything anymore, so why would I stay and go down with you? If you’ve got time to threaten me, you should probably start figuring out how you’re going to survive after everything collapses.”
She didn’t wait for a response.
This time, she walked out for good.
When Aven heard that Janice had left, he refused to believe it.
The sister he had protected for years, the one he had always defended, couldn’t possibly have said something so cold.
Even exhausted, he went to her campus to find her, but she refused to see him.
Left with no other choice, he kept calling until she finally answered, her tone already impatient.

Chapter 144 Walking Away
“Aven, I’m not part of the Soren family anymore.
You don’t need to come looking for me
“Janice, you’re upset, I get it. Aven said, trying to keep his voice steady. “But we’re still family. The Soren estate is your home. You can’t just walk away like this. Mom and Dad didn’t mean what they said they were. just angry. Don’t take it to heart. Come back.”
A soft, mocking laugh came through the line.
“Go back? For what?” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “So I can sit there and wait for everything to fall apart with you?”
She didn’t hold back anymore.
“The Soren family is done. You can’t give me what I want, so I don’t have to keep pretending to be your daughter or your sister.”
Aven’s grip tightened around his phone. “Pretending? What are you talking about?”
“What do you think I’m talking about?” Janice replied coldly. “Aven, are you really that naive? I never saw any of you as family.”
Her words came out clean, without hesitation.
“I stayed because Damon was the Alpha of Blazeborn Pack, because your family could give me status and resources. That’s the only reason I played along.”
She let out a quiet, dismissive laugh.
“Now that you’re finished, of course I’m finding something better. What, did you actually expect me to come back and suffer with you?”
She didn’t give him time to respond before delivering the final blow.
“If you want a sister so badly, go find Nira. She’s your real family. Your actual sister.”
The words hit hard enough to knock the breath out of him.
Aven stood there, frozen, unable to process what he had just heard.
His voice trembled slightly when he finally spoke. “Janice… you…”
“Aven, if you still think of yourself as my brother, then stop calling me,” she said, and hung up.
The call ended abruptly.
He stood there, phone still in his hand, her words replaying over and over, each one cutting deeper than
the last.
