Two savage roars ripped through the air atmost simultaneously, followed by the sharp screech of claws slashing against each other. The other werewolf’s swipe whistled past the roof of the car, but Kade’s strike landed squarely on his wrist.

“Aargh!” A pained shout echoed in the garage.

Seizing the moment, Oscar cranked the steering wheel hard, sending the car tearing through the maze of the parking structure like something out of a chase scene.

He veered sharply around pillars and swerved past abandoned vehicles, then punched the gas just as a heavy security gate began to roll shut. We shot through the gap with inches to spare.

The smell of burnt rubber filled the cabin, and the engine’s growl bounced off the concrete walls around us.

“Left up ahead–emergency exit!” Kade retracted his claws and pointed.

Oscar didn’t hesitate. He slammed the accelerator, sending the car charging up a steep ramp at a near–vertical angle. The rear tires spun for a heartbeat before catching traction, and we launched out of the garage like a bullet, blending into the nighttime traffic.
