Chapter 368 The Gala Confrontation

Third-Person POV:

Killian stared at her, his expression cold. “What are you getting at?”

Not wanting to arouse his suspicion, Dina suddenly let out a pitiful sob. “Killian, don’t you love me anymore? Ever since we got back from Wildgust Pack, you’ve been so distant. You won’teven stay in my room at night. What’s going on with you?”

Truth was, Killian didn’t know what was wrong either. In his memory, Dina was the fated mate he’d searched so hard to find. The one he had always loved was supposed to be Dina. His marriage to Natalie had been nothing more than a political alliance-a union of convenience.

So why did every touch from Dina leave him uneasy and resistant, while Natalie..somehow always drew him in, against his own will?

A vague flicker of something crossed his mind. He tried to grasp it, but a sudden, splitting headache ripped through his skull.

“Ah!” He clutched his head with a groan, feeling as though it might burst.

“Killian, what’s wrong?” Dina cried out, startled. She rushed toward him but caught herself halfway. Quickly, she raised her right wrist, where a delicate silver bracelet hung, and shook it hard.

The bracelet emitted a strange, piercing chime-its frequency so unnatural it made the mind reel.

Killian’s face contorted in agony. He dropped to his knees, hands pressed to his temples. “My head… It’s killing me…”

And then, abruptly, he collapsed onto the floor.

Dina stopped shaking the bracelet. She crouched down beside him, a cold smirk playing on her lips as she grabbed Killian’s chin.

you are “Still trying to fight it? I underestimated just how attached you are to Natalie.

“That Nira doesn’t even have a wolf spirit, but she doesn’t strike me as simple. What if she noticed something during the examination and tampered with you?”

Her eyes

narrowed dangerously as she muttered under her breath, “Looks like I need to have a little talk with Nira…”

After composing herself, Dina hauled Killian onto the bed. Her fingers traced the lines of his handsome face lingering for a moment. “What’s so special about Natalie, anyway? Is she really worth all this resistance?”

A flash of jealousy crossed her gaze. “But it doesn’t matter. Soon enough, you’ll forget all about her. Your heart will belong to me, and me alone…”

That evening, at the Creekshade Pack’s high-end charity gala-held in honor of Moon Goddess Day-the grand hall glowed under crystalline chandeliers as bright as daylight.

Natalie, dressed in an emerald-green couture gown, stood chatting gracefully with a representative from the Rothschild family. Every gesture she made radiated poise and elegance.

“Ms. Hudson’s insights into the renewable energy sector are truly impressive,” the white-haired elder remarked, raising his glass. “We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Hudson Group.”

Natile offered a warm, polished smile. “The feeling is mutual”

Natalie glanced over and saw Killian walking in, Dina clinging to his arm. Dina wore a fiery red gown with a plunging neckline, flaunting her role as the other woman without an ounce of subtlety.

“Oh my god, did Mr. Hawke really bring someone else? Is he actually breaking the mate bond with Natalie?”

“Poor Natalie. Twenty years of marriage, just like that…”

“It’s so strange. Killian used to be completely devoted to her. How could he just fall out of love overnight?”

Whispers washed through the crowd like waves.

Natalie’s fingers tightened almost imperceptibly around her champagne flute, though her expression remained composed. She turned politely to the elder beside her. “Please excuse me for a moment.”
