With a few carefully placed pushes from Nira, the legal process moved faster than anyone expected. The authorities arranged a full psychiatric evaluation for Nolan, bringing in a certified specialist to assess his condition.
The conclusion came back clean and convenient.
After causing a fatal incident, Nolan had developed severe psychological trauma that had progressed into schizophrenia. According to the report, he had completely lost the ability to distinguish right from wrong or control his own actions, including his wolf.
Legally, that was more than enough to halt prosecution.
Everything fell into place almost too easily, yet no one in the Soren family questioned it. The evaluator had been handpicked by them, someone they trusted, someone who knew exactly what needed to be done.
By the end of the day, Nolan had already been transferred into a private psychiatric facility for long–term treatment.
Nira’s POV:
Once Nolan had “legally” slipped out of facing charges, I changed into something more appropriate and went to meet the victim’s family in person.
The moment Diana saw me, she dropped straight to her knees, the impact echoing against the floor.
“Thank you… thank you so much,” she said, her voice shaking as tears streamed down her face.
“Even if he didn’t end up in prison, if it weren’t for you, no one would’ve ever known what really happened. And there’s no way we could’ve raised the money for my daughter’s surgery this quickly.”
She tried to steady herself, but emotion kept breaking through.
“I’m just a low–tier Omega. I don’t have status, I don’t have connections. All I’ve ever wanted is to keep my family together. I never dared to hope for more. This outcome… it’s already enough for me.”
“I understand,” I said quietly, reaching down to help her back to her feet. “But you don’t need to beg every time you see me.”
1 studied her for a moment before asking, “Has your daughter’s surgery been scheduled yet?”
Diana nodded quickly, wiping her tears with the back of her hand. “Yes, we’re just waiting for the final date. It’s all because of you that Dr. Mercer agreed to perform the surgery himself.”
Her voice carried a mix of disbelief and gratitude.
“He’s the best pediatric oncology specialist in the entire alliance. He usually only treats elite families. I’ve heard of parents exhausting every resource they have and still not getting on his schedule. And somehow… he’s going to operate on my child.”
She looked at me, overwhelmed. “I don’t even know how to thank you.”
“That’s what matters,” I replied, then let my gaze drop to her leg. “Once your daughter’s surgery is done, I’ll take care of your leg as
well.”

Diana froze completely, as if the words hadn’t quite registered.
“My… leg?” she repeated after a moment, her lips trembling.

“The doctors told me it’s permanent. The damage happened before my wolf awakened, and I’m a low–tier Omega. I don’t have the kind of healing ability needed for something like that. They said it’s something I’ll live with for the rest of my life.”
She looked at me, searching for any sign that I might be joking.
*Just because they can’t fix it doesn’t mean I can’t,” I said, my tone calm, almost casual.
Her eyes widened as she stared at me, trying to process what I had just said. For a long moment, she didn’t speak at all, as if caught between hope and fear.
She wanted to believe me, she was just afraid of being disappointed again..
Then suddenly, she dropped to her knees again, bowing repeatedly, her voice breaking as she spoke.
“I don’t know how to repay you. You’ve given my family hope again and again. Even if we spent the rest of our lives trying, it wouldn’t be enough. My husband was everything to us. After he passed, we lost our income, our stability, everything. Then my child got sick, and I couldn’t see any way forward. There were times I thought I wouldn’t make it through.”
Her shoulders trembled as the words poured out.
“And then you found me. You told me the truth about what happened to my husband. You helped expose everything. You gave us a chance at justice. You helped cover my child’s surgery. And now… you’re even offering to fix my leg.”
She looked up at me through tears.
“You didn’t just help us. You saved us.”

When I saw blood starting to form on her forehead, I quickly reached out and pulled her to her feet. “Hey, stop. You don’t have to do that. Just focus on living your life, that’s what matters.”
Diana shook her head, her voice breaking. “You’ve already done more than enough for us. As for Nolan… just let it go. People like them… we can’t fight them. I don’t want this to come back on you because of us. I’ve already made peace with it.”
I looked at her, reading the hesitation behind her words.
She hadn’t let it go, she just didn’t want me dragged into something dangerous.
“You don’t need to worry about that,” I said, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “He’s not getting out.”
She looked up at me, confusion flickering in her eyes.
“You don’t need to think about it anymore. Just focus on your daughter’s surgery,” I added, not offering any further explanation.
